Bracketology in April.

But, some respect in the form of a predicted single-digit seed (a prediction I'd love to see come to fruition).

Well, there's ridiculous dumb . . . and then there's ridiculous smart.  This, of course, is the latter!

Nice. Let's just skip the regular season and jump in the No. 9 seed.

Let's assume this is even close to being accurate....I don't like it.  With the way the brackets set up, you're much better off being a 10 through 14 seed than an 8 or 9 seed.  For me, please disrespect us and give us that double digit seed!

Peytonology was pretty bad. Baracketology wasn't great, either.

Do I misunderstand?  Doesn't 9 seed mean that we're functionally considered somewhere between 33-36?  Don't we hope for better?

If experts look at Ohio as a 9 seed that is a MASSIVE bump for the MAC. It means the conference is potentially in line for two bids in 2013, should the 'Cats not win the MAC tourney.

Should we hope for better? Sure but think about this season, in terms of an appreciation for a single digit seed.

Ohio had a great year and got a #13. If experts are moving that pre-season seed line by 4 spots, that is a TON of respect nationally.

Ohio is coming in ahead of:

Purdue
Butler
Georgetown
St. Mary's
Xavier

And on the same seed line as:

Notre Dame
Tennessee
Iowa State

I'd say they're getting a ton of respect here, in regards to 2013.

The hardest part for a mid-major is getting pre-season pub. Ohio is already way ahead of the curve, in terms of possibly having an at-large to fall back on. Being in that 8/9 range puts them in the "they would have to play their way out" camp..i.e. experts consider them a tournament team right now. That's an enviable position for a smaller school.

Be careful what you wish for...

That 9 seed is such a bad spot... 9 seeds get a war in teh 1st round and if they win, are rewarded with a 2nd round matchup against a 1-seed. Give me the 12 any day of the week.

A Fiami b-ball pep rally.

Somebody -- maybe even Katz -- predicted next year's tourney field right after this year's tourney ended.  They had Akron in it instead of Ohio.  His head must've been filled with all the confetti from the UK-KU game.

Way too much time to find something to fill it with. We are getting sports overkill.

What else is there to talk about in April?   I'm all for any college basketball news whether it matters or not.

I agree with OUfan. What else is there to talk about at this point? This board is all about talk, both relevant and irrelevant.

I agee100%. I will take a 11, 12 or 13 over an 8 or 9 seed any time. Better shot at advancing to round of 16

this is news? No thanks. Baseball, spring football, the draft, spring break, almost anything other than a worthless bit of speculation that at this point is totally meaningless.

Baseball, spring football, the draft, spring break, almost anything." I don't think any of those subjects are appropriate for any of the "Ohio Basketball" threads on this website?? I'm sure there are some threads on other message boards where you can indulge yourself with those topics.  Let's talk all things OU basketball here!!

Yeah, I was looking for something to do until the next Reds game. Man do they stink. I am just amazed that people get so wrapped up that they are arguing about the preference of a 9 seed over a 12 or whatever.

It's thought-provoking discussion, whats so wrong about that? I think discussing the possibility of a 9 seed over a 12 or 13 seed is entirely valid, considering the implications that go with both of those seeds, and discussing possibilities for next season is never a moot point.
