The Cats were 1-1 against the BE this past season.  They lost a close game to the 7th place team but beat a team that tied for 4th in the regular season (USF was playing its 3rd game in 5 days but Ohio was playing its 2nd in 3, so I'm not sure how disadvantaged USF was).  I think the current team would match up well with the BE.  They would likely win most of the games against the bottom six from this year (DePaul, Providence, Villanova, Pitt, SJU and Rutgers); play the next seven about even (UConn, Seton Hall, WVU, Louisville, USF, G-town); and have trouble only with the top 3 (ND, Marquette & Syracuse).

I got this one for bozocat and squared:  we'd lose every game because, by gosh, they're the BE and we're not.  Even if we beat one of 'em, it wouldn't be counted as a win.

My thought is the better MAC teams (not every year, but historically) may not win a BCS conference but would do well enough to get an at-large bid.

Keep in mind the 7th place team won the BE tournament.

Pitt, WVU and Syracuse are all leaving the BE next year. So we wouldn't have to worry about actually playing them night in and night out.
