Staff additions: Groce called the two new members of his staff at Illinois "no-brainer" additions.
Dustin Ford and
Jamall Walker were two of Groce's assistants at Ohio and have joined him in Champaign.
"These two coaches ... will bring stability, continuity and knowledge of how we want to run the program," Groce said. "They are well-rounded in every aspect of coaching at this level, including recruiting, scouting and player development."
Ford, whose brother Geno coaches at Bradley, works primarily with post players. Walker, who helped recruit Cooper, works with guards.
Groce said he hopes to complete his staff by the end of the week. He is considering keeping on
Jerrance Howard, who worked under previous coach
Bruce Weber.
