Wilkins, a Springfield, Missouri native, attended Snow College in Utah these past two seasons and recently decommitted from Southern Illinois. The 23-year old took two years off after he graduated high school in 2007 to go on a Mormon mission. He will be considered a junior in terms of eligibility next season.

Wilkins earned NJCAA Division I All-America third-team honors this season and was selected to the Scenic West Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team.  He ranked third in the league in scoring at 17.2 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field.

The coaching staff went into this past season disappointed in losing the Mitchell kid to Witchita State at  the 11th hour in that they felt they didn't have a "good shooting team" and Mitchell was just that, "a good shooter."  It all worked out just fine last season as we all know, but I think it was understood that a another big inside and another shooter would help this roster out.  Appears we got both.

I'm confused. I haven't said a bad word about this person.

Apparently, two good adds.

What concerns me is rebounding.  The more assured we are in that department, the more confidence I have that we can build upon last year.  Can't get hammered on the boards.  Also, it was pretty apparent that at the Sweet level, a team must be substantial on the glass.

Yes, Jeff.  But will that end such as Bobby Mo and UNC?  We got absolutely destroyed on the board's most game.  it's crazy that we could have won both of those games.  We don't have to dominate every game on the boards, just win our fair share and never get crunched there.

uh oh, BIGMANZ.
