I was more "impressed" by our performance last night watching the NBA Lottery show. They showed a graphic listing 4 UNC players as likely going in the first round of the draft. I know their number 1 player was out, but still, we more than showed up!

I know it was just one game.  But I didn't find any of the UNC to be guys who I thought would make a significant mark in the NBA.

The one that will make a difference in the NBA didn't enter the draft: McAdoo. He was technically their 5th NBA player .

Are you kidding? I know Barnes is a little tentative, but he has all the tools for the NBA game. He will probably be even better in the NBA where there is more floor spacing. He is a 6'8 point forward with a nice touch. Zeller is a legit 7 footer who runs the floor like a Gazelle. You are very hard to please.

Five years from now there will be he and then the others.  By far, the best.

I'm not at all sold on Zeller.  He's big.  He's smart.  But I don't think that his physical skill is superior.  I'm thinking that he finds a role like the guy from Kansas who's on OKC (Collison ?)---star in college but reasonable role player in NBA.

If those UNC guys are that good, how did we take them to OT.  Yes, they lacked their point guard.  But they were about 4-5 inches taller at every position.

I'm not hard to please.  I'm realistic.  I was at the game.  On that night, at least, no one on the oppo was particularly impressive.

Didnt Zeller have like an insane stat line of 20 + points and 20+ rebounds? I dont care who you are that is good. But it also shows that our players are great for even keeping it close when you have someone playing like that.

I wish we could relive March all over again. It was a hell of a ride. Does anyone know a place where i can download or watch the NCAA games?

I occasionally go back and watch the tourney vids when I'm craving some Bobcat entertainment but when I watch the UNC game I only watch the the second half, never the first half or overtime. Its much more enjoyable. When Offutt drives and dishes to Kellogg for the 3 that puts us in the lead for the first time.... pure magic.

I do the same.  If I stop it at the end of regulation I leave happy.  The moment we finally took the lead gives me chills every time.  I also would appreciate a UNC game download.  I still have Georgetown and Akron from last time.

This thread has links to videos of the games:

I needed to activate my Google Drive account before the links worked for me.

I had the Gtown download but lost it when my computer crashed. You don't have those games on a link like the others do you?

Request to the powers that be- could we get a thread that has links to all of our tournament games for download and sticky it to the top of the bball msg board? would be a good one to ad to (hopefully) over time and would be useful to new members. thanks.

Unfortunately I don't, sorry.  I downloaded it right after the game.

I came away from the UNC game saying Zeller was the best player I have EVER seen against the Bobcats.  He was incredible that night and was a great player at UNC, regardless of how his NBA career turns out.

"If they are so good how did we stay so close to them?"  Starting to sound like OzCat...Just saying.

I came away thinking that he's a solid college player who had his way because of a massive height advantage.  His.  And that of his teammates.

If Zeller was that good, we'd've lost by 15.

Sure, I'm an O H I O homer.  But the one player on the court that night who made a big mark wore green and white and is named Offutt.

Solid?  He was the ACC player of the year, and for good reason. He was the best player on that UNC team for most of the year.

I guess 20 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks was just ho-hum.

Pretty nice career. From Washington Indiana won a few state titles in 3a ball in a small town rich in basketball history  eventually becoming  Mr Basketball following in the footsteps of his big brother. He earned all ACC accolades after a redshirt year with a broken wrist. Ca0e back str6nger and more focused. He had a great year and a capped off a nice career.

I think he works very hard and will be one of those guys who can hang about 30 lbs on his frame and make an impact. In a league with very few fundamental and skilled big men he has potential to have a good career. I dont think he is a superstar but he is solid and with some bulk and a bit of work on his perimeter game he has the speed, work ethic and desire to excel.

Funny thing is ....he is probably not the best of the 3 brothers. That one is still in school at IU.

As far as the others go....McAdoo is gonna be a nice piece. I am with the others who think Barnes et al get in the league but I dont see a lot of drive and desire. Skill and height will only take you so far, It gets you in the room.... Work and Desire is what will keep you there.....

On that night in St. Louis when it mattered in the second half, the best player on the floor wore Green and White.
