Until now I thought reading the real estate transactions for local celebs comings and goings was my personal, guilty pleasure.  It's amazing how much is revealed in that little section.  Good for Stoney for buying up (I trust), often it's going the other way as pro careers fade (see Eddie George and the mystery foreclosure).

That's some serious cash for only having played overseas his whole career.  Time to hit this guy up for some donations to the athletic department.

10 years in 6 figures adds up.

Stoney has been making 7 figures for years not 6.  The last I heard it was in the neighborhood of 3 Million.  I think he has been defensive player of the year a couple times in a very good league.

Hilarious guy who took in the full Athens experience during his time there.

Great for him - he was a fun player to watch. His teams had so much talent on them, but just couldn't get over the hump and win the MAC. Really contributed to the downfall of Larry Hunter...

He's been on a team that's qualified for the Euroleague several times, which is the basketball equivalent of the UEFA Champions League and is big-time money.

And I agree, he really lived and loved the OU experience--which is kind of amusing given he transferred here--and he was always nice to me.

I completely agree Jeff.  The teams he was on were a good point guard away from being outstanding. I've never seen a more consistent rebounder on any basketball team that I have personally followed.

Given recent history, it's hard to believe that this always used to be our biggest weakness. Since the days of Geno Ford (with apologies to LOVE), we had lacked any strong presence at PG. I think we've been a bit spoiled recently.

If DJ Cooper was PG for that 1998-99 team alongside a starting lineup of LaDrell Whitehead, Sanjay Adell, Shaun Stonerook, and Diante Flenorl, that team would have won 25+ games, not 18. Especially if Coop could have brought Coach Groce back in this time machine as well, and maybe some bench help.

That was a top-heavy team that year, though they were fun as hell to watch. The freshmen that year, if you'll remember, were Jason Crawford and Patrick Flomo. Dustin was a sophomore. Of course, when your other sophomores are Nick Terry and Jeremy Thrapp, you'll have your ups and downs.

That team really shot itself in the foot by scheduling a game with Cleveland State on the return trip from the Carrier Classic. We whipped WVU's ass that year, too. One of the most entertaining games that year was actually a loss, one which came at home to a Lamar Odom-led Rhode Island team.

So many of us came back to campus during break for that game. Odom didn't disappoint, and engaged in some great back-and-forth with the proto-O zone.
