This was buried in the Groce thread, so I thought I'd post it out here incase anyone missed it...

Best of luck to you young man. I'm sorry OHIO didn't work out, but hopefully you'll find success and be happy at Delaware.

I asked a week ago why he was leaving the program but never really got an answer.  Coaching, grades, Athens, playing time, something else............will the real story ever come out?

You can't deny someone the love of the sixth least populated state in the Union.

Would've been something if he had transferred to Illinois.

We wish him well on his future endeavors.

Now, if the Blue Hens join the MAC, as has been rumored on the football forum, things could get interesting.  Don't want to see another Grunk-type situation develop.

But with only three counties, it's one of the most densely populated

Been to a few games at Delaware. Nice arena. Think Eastern Michigan, only with less fans.

Probably never find out.  He says it wasn't his grades.  He says he had a 2.6 GP.  Maybe he slacked off on mandatory study halls, class attendance, or submission of assignments, papers, or projects.  Or maybe he and family wanted him to have more playing time.  I do not get it.  He appeared to be a such great prospect.  Things happen and kids trasnfer.  Happens so much more frequently these days!

I understand that kids transferring is inevitable for every program, but this whole situation just seemed strange and kind of came out of nowhere.  Hopefully this will not affect our NCAA rating so we don't lose any more scholarships.

Did it really come out of nowhere, or did it come right after we announced a 3 year transfer who plays his same position?

I thought it came right after Groce told him to stay in Athens for the MAC tourney

Not good call.  I somewhat wish the young man good luck.  I'm guessing that he joings the large legions of those who transferred and were never notably heard from thereafter.

Hope he matures there. He needs to if he wants to be successful.

Goard and Groce bumped heads it came to a head when Groce left Goard in town for the MAC it was not grades. Goard had the choice to come back and stated that he was done at Ohio.

Looks like Goard did not make it to Delaware.  Enrolled at kilgore College in Texas.  Signed a letter of intent in May.  He will play a year of junior college ball before heading elsewhere.

I hope  Kilgore plays Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" as it takes the court.
