A huge thanks to the Bobcat Coaching Staff & Players for putting on the "Little Dribblers Camp" this past Saturday at the Convo. About 40 kids, ages 4-8. Well run, organized, detailed. Best part was how they structured it. Teach for 5 minutes, kids do it for 12-15 minutes, then a 5 minute "break" for water, restroom, or practice the skill. Good method with the little ones. Bobcat players were involved and most were animated with the kids. Several times the staff lowered the hoops to meet the needs of the kids - great. My 5 year old loved it and we'll make the drive from C-bus again next year.

I didn't pull the trigger this year because I just thought 4 was too early. Kind of wished I had, but definitely doing it next year when he is 5. The only trouble will be getting my then 3 year old to understand he is just watching.

There were actually some 3's there, I wish I would've brought my other son who is three. They literally had the hoop down to about 4 feet and the kids were able to shoot at it.

Thanks for the info. Its my 2 year old (3 next year) that is super obsessed with basketball and "JB Cooper" so I would love to get him in. His birthday is in December so I guess he'll be close to 4.

I was hoping he called him D.B. Cooper.
That'd be a dashing nickname for a guy who gets so many steals.

I just happened to see it posted on ohiobobcats.com - I think Groce said this was the first annual? It needs to be included in the email newsletters for next year.

In an effort to not miss this again this year...Does anyone have any information on this yet? I only thought of it because I saw they are starting their youth camp (ages 8 to 16) tomorrow and was wondering if they plan to do the little dribblers in the fall again. I could probably send Fuss an email but before I bugged him I thought I would see if anyone here had any info.

I don't think the little dribblers camp was announced until late summer...they didnt do it until september...you could maybe ask Aaron Fuss about it, he helped run it last year and is still on staff.

I did ask Fuss and he responded. He said they are definitely doing it but don't have a firm date yet. Will likely be a Saturday the day of a home football game while the Volleyball team is away such as 9/22.
