The only thing that matters Friday night is that DW3 plays limited minutes. Let the crowd give him a standing ovation on senior night and then hopefully we play well and we don't need him for 25 minutes.

To me, it doesn't matter if we lose three straight heading into Cleveland or go in there with a one game winning streak. Clean slate starts for everyone next Thursday. Seeding is locked in. Don't play DWIII 25 minutes tonight.

The biggest question is how will Dwight be introduced tonight?

1.) Dwight Wilson
2.) DJ Wilson
or
my all-time favorite
3.) Dwight Wright

Wasn't that on the classic rock station?

All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity

I noticed that Miles Brown is not included with the Seniors being honored. I wonder if that is telling that he plans to return for his "COVID year" and that Roderick does not. Both could play another year.

Tweet from official Ohio University account shows Roderick being honored, but no mention of Miles.

I would say it definitely indicates Miles has committed to returning (and Jaylin for that matter). But I wouldn't say it definitively means Roderick is not returning, just that he has not committed to it at this point.

I'd welcome Roderick back for one more. I still think he brings value to this program even if its not totally in the stat line.

Hell, he may be one of the last guys we ever have that stays for 4+ years and I think there's something to be said for that.

It seems to me that they honor if they are graduating or out of eligibility. I would not say that is anything definitive about Roderick not playing a COVID year or that Miles Brown intends to.

Erica Johnson did get honored two years ago because she graduated even though she technically had two years left. Then she came back and played another year but could have played this season and didn't. I don't know how great of an indication this is for intention to use a COVID year.

I expect that Boals would take them both back. You never know what you might get in the portal but there are always guys at the end of the bench that don't play. I think he would want Hadaway back too. I don't want most of out players to leave but, I think, he is probably looking for at least one spot to open up to look for a physical big as similar to Wilson as he could get.

Would absolutely love to have him back.

Like you said, in this portal world Roderick is a unicorn. Who knows how many we lose next year. His scoring might have fallen off, but he represents OU in every way you should. He does everything hes asked. He doesn't sulk. He doesn't complain. He just plays the game. Rare.

Well we will have Miles as the one and only 5 year full time player in the history of the program. Assuming a healthy season next year, he will surely be the all-time games played leader.

Does that get an asterisk because of the Covid-19 year? winkcool

All for Miles returning. But I don't see how Miles...Hunter...Brown...and Elmore would take 4 of the 5 starting spots because of size.

One spot is already open. This was always the final year of eligibility for Dwight and Devon and so far we have only Ben Nicol lined up to come in. A front court player is already a must with that spot. For now, I'm choosing to assume the tweet means Ben is moving on and Miles is returning. If we have two more spots to work with, I wouldn't mind using BOTH on front court players.

I'm all for Miles returning (guard depth, guard depth, guard depth). I'm also for turning the starting lineup keys over to AJ Brown and Elmore together.

With the current landscape of CBB and the portal, it's probably safe to assume there will be unexpected turnover we haven't considered.

As we've learned, that goes both ways. It seems likely we will be adding portal guys every year to replace portal loses or bolster the roster.

Really? Those two vs Kent on Tuesday: Combined minutes played = 40 (James 25/Brown 15) They get ONE defensive rebound (Brown).

Baker plays 19 minutes and he pulls down 4 rebounds, ONE is on offense.

And this lack of keeping the ball out of opponents hands or getting second chances is not a one game thing.

In each of their last ten games the two freshman total 45 rebounds in 407 minutes compared to Baker's 134 minutes producing 23 rebounds over his last 10 games. Dividing the rebounds by minutes Baker is 55% better at rebounding then the other two.

You don't rebound, you don't win championships. Love that they are Bobcats but expect more from each. They both have lots of work in improvement before they get the keys to next year's car.

Baker is gone next year and I think we've seen the best of what Miles Brown can bring us. Players often make a sizable jump between their freshman and sophomore years. I trust that will happen for both of AJ Brown and Elmore and I believe there's a good chance they can pass the ceiling Miles has reached before the end of next season so long as they get that game experience.

I'd not bet on it. There's more to playing than merely at the offensive end. And discipline needs to improve, forced shots don't cut it.

Amen. I'd add DEFENSE AND REBOUNDING win championships.

Well and 3 point shooting and FT win NCAA games assuming you do the above.

Neither EJ4 or AJB have shown much on the defense and rebounding areas. You see how dynamic they can be on offense for sure, but this ain't HS anymore and neither is good enough to just out-score people.

Improvement needed all around.
