-
Aug 14, 2012
Shaun Stonerook
(202-F-77, college:
Ohio
) announced his retirement from pro basketball. They player made it official this morning via twitter.
I've decide to hang up my Nike's. It's been an incredible career, much more than I could have ever imagined. Thanks to all my fans for the support over the last 12 years. Not sure what the future holds for me but I'm excited for the next chapter in life. I also want to thank all my former teammates. You guys made the last 12 years incredible and I have a lot of great memories. If any of you ever need anything just call me. And coaches. And everyone else.
Shaun Stonerook
played last seven years for Montepaschi Siena. They won six SerieA titles together. They also grabbed four Cup trophies. In 2009 and 2010, Stonerook was MVP of the Final Tournament. In 2011 and 2012, he was named Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Defensive Player of the Year. Before Montepaschi,
Shaun Stonerook
played for Cantu and Antwerpen.

Seems to be retiring despite having a lot of good basketball left in him. Must be ready to settle down in his homeland.

I don't know if he would have any interest in coaching, but something just tells me he'll pursue another career, at least for a few years.
