Odd request, Bobcat Nation: Does anyone have the ability to record (onto DVD, or even a videocassette) either or both games from last weekend? If so, I'd certainly be willing to pay postage and any other expense.

I was in Nashville, and while I could set the DVR remotely, those games are only on the DVR. I don't have any way to keep them permanently. Whenever the DVR dies or DirecTV tells me I need to upgrade my box or something, I will lose the recordings. (That make sense?)

If anyone has a recording of the Georgetown game from two years ago, I'd love that one too...

If you can help with any of that -- South Florida game would be my dream choice -- please private message me. Thank you!

I really hope the Athletic Department can put out some kind of DVD recapping the season. Hopefully with the All In footage they will be able to.

That would be cool, too...

Anyone know if there's a new "All In" coming this week?

The last All In on the schedule was the March 13 show.

I'm hoping they'll decide to do a follow-up special on the season since we're making such a good run in the tournament and the previous episodes were so well received.

Didn't CBSsports have them on-line for replay when we played Georgetown/Tennessee? Are they doing that with this years tourney games?

I have the MAC championship and the last 2 games on my DVR. If someone is able to explain to me how to get them to burn onto my laptop I'd be more than willing to help anyone out. I've been asking around and trying to figure out how to do it. From every indication it looks like I won't be able to get it off my DVR but if someone knows how PM me and I'll try it out.

If anyone does have/can make  DVD's of both of the games in Nashville, I'd also love to get a copy!

This has been a recurring problem going back to 2010.  The replays are available online right now but the site is well protected and it has proven impossible for me to rip the videos from the site.  I have had some success in using a screen recorder but I can't get the capture frame rate high enough and the motion is really jerky.  I will keep at it though.

BBall Attack, what is the make and model of your DVR and I will try to help you get instructions?

Just had a fairly major breakthrough.  I hope to have the Michigan game finished at some point tomorrow then the USF and UNC over the weekend.

Does anyone have links where the Gtown and Tennesse games are still available online?

Gallagher I have a Motorola DVR/HDT V box. Model is DCT6412/2300. Let me know what you know or what I need to do to get it to my laptop. I have a MacBook Pro so I'm not sure if connecting it to my laptop would make the process easier. Any knowledge would be helpful and if I'm able to get it I'd be more than willing to help anyone out with a copy

But I have a feeling this may be more work than you are interested in.  Plus you need a firewire cable which you may not already own and are expensive.  If someone can find an online replay of the MAC tournament games it may be easier for me to just rip them from the site.

Also i am in talks with the company that stores all the full game videos from the NCAA tournament for the past like 20 years and we can likely get a DVD of the georgetown game, similar to what the athletics department has, bad news is it may cost $150.

Ill keep you all posted.

I keep waiting for MGoVideo.com to update with the Ohio-Michigan game. They've posted every basketball game this season.

But I get the feeling they're so embarrassed by the loss that this one is never coming.

I don't think they will post it since they don't own the rights.  Just the same as Russ and RobC not being able to show any video highlights in their recap videos.

Perhaps their is a period of time that must pass before non-CBS/TNT/TBS/TruTV/NCAA videos can be distributed.  Where's ANorris when you need him?  :)

Between all the posting here and my fiancé visiting for spring break, I've been a bit behind. I have a DVD of Georgetown (screen capture rip, decent but not excellent quality), and Akron from 2010 (same quality). I discovered a way to save source video from ESPN3, and as such have quite high quality copies of the MAC games from this year (and some of our more important football games). That method has so far been stymied by MMOD; I seem unable to grab more than fifteen seconds at a time. More time will be invested in coming weeks.

What I lack is a functional DVD burner right now.

As for getting things off of a DVR, it tends to be quite a chore.

Distributing whole games is verboten for 70+ years. Clips, though, given they are an insubstantial part of the greater work, is covered under fair use if you're using it for critical, educational, etc use.

I have officially conquered the MMOD protections using software called Replay Media Capture 4 and some tweaks to its settings.  Anyone who is interested in learning how to do this I can help educate,  or just wait a little while and I will have some sort of finished product for people.

Just so I know is anyone gonna give me a hard time on here for distributing copywritten material including from, Turner, ESPN, and BobcatTV? Between anorris and the bobcatTV people that read the site I'd rather know about this in advance than get yelled at after I produce a DVD.

There is a lot involved there and I don't have a firewire cable

Bumping this thread up because I'm wondering if anyone has had any breakthroughs getting/making recordings of games.

I'd love to get a decent copy of the Akron game (MAC finals), Michigan or South Florida -- especially either of those last two. Any insights? Feel free to private message me if you'd like.

We have made great strides but are still working to come up with something that will work for most users.

Glad to hear you're giving it a shot, David. I'll be as patient as I can if anyone thinks such a project is possible. Keep us posted! And thanks.

Is there any problem if it is distributed free?

If you guys can just wait another week or so, I'll have nice torrents for you to get the video from. Perhaps even with secondary audio track of Russ & Rob.
