Yes, really. Those are all quality teams, and I will be thrilled if we win any of those games on the road.

And look at that, we've seen the guys win two of those three already. It goes without saying that this group is better than some expected. At this point is it realistic to truly expect 11, 12 or 13 wins in conference this year?

Definitely better than expected -- deeper than expected for me. I think that will help in conference, and wouldn't be surprised by 11 or 12 conference wins, but 13 is pushing it, simply because of how the league is year in and year out.

Keep in mind, the regular season title has been won with 12, 13, 11, 13, and 14 wins the last five years (during the 16-game era), with the only 14-win team being Toledo, having the obvious advantage of playing the West twice and East once.

I said last year we had the talent and scheme to run the table in what was a very weak MAC. We proved that by not only beating but demolishing some teams we not beaten in a long time in their own house. What we lacked was unselfish play, maturity and cohesiveness. The inconsistent placement of individual above team took its toll. We have all those qualities this year.

There is not one reason in the world this team does not run the table in a moderately stronger MAC. There is no one here who has an extreme mismatch that gives them a dominant team over what we are putting on the floor this year. If these guys step up and continue to mature in their approach to the game, their fellow athletes and execute the game plans this team should totally dominate this league. Anything less tells me we are still not putting team first 100% of the time.

Last year I went 30-8 counting the Elite 8 game I called for as a loss. ColumbusCat went 29-7 and I petition for that to go down in the record books as 36-0 for the most ridiculous preseason prediction I have ever seen.

FWIW, if my predictions this year come true I will need to change my signature "I have seen crazier things happen..."

Don't get me wrong, I know Louisville is tough but why does everyone have us losing to them? Yes, it's at Louisville but if I recall correctly, we hung in with them all game long and almost pulled an upset in the last minute. Now we are all back and more experienced and still a good coach with us, I am predicting an upset with this one.
