Speakeasy Sports did a story asking Jim Christian, who coached Antonio Gates if there was a future Antonio Gates on this team.

Check out the story then vote on the poll, which Bobcat do you think would make the best football player?

I think it is Ivo or Keely.  I see both having good potential at TE, but I voted for Ivo since he has a bit more speed.

Interesting poll. I go w/Walt. Athletic ability - speed And quickness, hands, eyes. Mental toughness, physical durability. Smarts - anticipate, create, take advantage. Psychological determination/will. Leader. Rises to occasion.

Kadeem Green.

But what do I know. I once thought Marin Bota was a future NFL player.

For speed and hands, I'm going to say D.J.  Maybe he could be a C.J. Spiller or Darren Sproles like RB who could do a lot of damage with a smaller frame.

I think TJ Hall would be intriguing as well.

Did any of these guys play football in high school?  I know one of our football players was pretty highly touted in hoops.  Derrius Vick?

I remember there being serious talk about Jerome Tillman staying a 5th year at Ohio to play football.  Solich sounded very welcoming to the idea.  Tillman of course chose to continue his basketball career overseas.  I really thought he would be a great Tight End and possibly be the next Antonio Gates.  What if?

If he becomes the next Antonio Gates that's one thing, but I bet a 12 year basketball career in Europe pays better than a 3.5 year career in the NFL. And basketball in Europe comes with a lot fewer head injuries.

I'm not trying to say he made the wrong decision.  Just making conversation.

Brandon Hunter. He could catch a ball with, sometimes , as many as 4 guys hanging onto his arms.

True, but you have to live in Europe.

I agree 110%!!  Walt is impressing me more and more and I think this will be the year he gets really noticed by the nation.  I am certainly glad he left OSU and came down to us.  I know they have been talking him up lately but I think he will get more and more attention as this year goes by.  Thanks for all you do Walt!!  We got a chance to talk with him after the Little Dribblers Camp and I was amazed with this young man with his maturity and all.  We got a great player and young man in Walt and I will say we have quite a few more as well with DJ, Stevie, Ivo, Nick, TJ, Ricardo, Reggie, and all the others.  I am glad we are not reading how one of our guys beat up his girlfriend or got into a bar brawl or smoking anything like these other schools have to.  I am happy to be a huge fan of this team and this year will be OUtstanding!!

Toughness, leadership, clutch, intelligent, athletic, physically strong: I'm going Walt Offutt. 6-foot-3 wideout! He would be the Browns' top receiver right now if he stepped in :)
