From what I heard, OU beat Va Tech 81-76 in a regulation like 40 minute game. Although OU started slow, and were down ay half time, the came roaring back to get the win.  Walter Offitt was the high man, and he had his jump shot dropping.Christian's offense schemes were good as was the case with defense.  Great start for the Bobcats!!

From what you can read here about Vtech, should we really be that impressed with ourselves?

With a win over a team that is a regular on the March Madness bubble? Umm yes.

And they have a new coach, so it was going to be tough to say what type of team they have.

Oh, and they are from the ACC.

When you consider that basketball teams usually play their best ball in February and March, I'll take a five point win over an ACC team in October every year.

Let's pump the breaks...Although I am sure the players were as competitive as ever, both teams were probably very experimental in their approach.  It's a little bit like analyzing spring training stats in baseball.

According to my preseason magazine, Va Tech is picked to finish 12th in the ACC. Regardless, traveling there and getting a victory is still something to get excited about, particularly when we did not play our best game.  At the end of the day, VT is still a high major with talented kids. Also, team chemistry is considered high and the guys are very confident.

I've seen Va Tech and this is a good scrimmage win. Tech has several 6-7/6'9 guys very athletic team..and yes ACC duh.

Agree with others above, 5 point road wins over ACC schools are overrated.  Life on the road doesn't apply until we travel to Kalamazoo in January.

Agreed. The way I see it is it's not necessarily great news but it is most definitely not bad news.

I think anytime you walk into another team's territory and get a win, that is something to brag about.  Heck, we even say "Protect This House".  Even though VT may not be the top dog of the ACC, that is still something to brag on.
