Overall not a very good start for us.  1-4 against D-1 competition.

The absurd part of my brain is imagining Louie Orr standing in the port in Toledo pointing at the water, screaming, "We got next, lake!"

That Akron loss is upsetting.  Multi-bid prospects take a swift kick to the nuts right off the bat.

It is but there is plenty of time rebuild the resume. Plus Akron was without Nick Harney and Demetrius Treadwell (suspended because of paperwork problems) and Alex Abreu is dinged up a little.  They had three freshman play important roles Friday.

MAC not off to a great start at all. NIU lost to a D2 team. 2 losses to the Ivy League. Toledo lost to Loyala-Ill...who I don't think has been relevant since the 60's. Akron, short-handed or otherwise, should not be losing to Coastal Carolina.

Only Division I wins are from us and Kent State (vs. Drexel). Let's hope the league can pick it up!

Coastal Carolina is a well coached team that beat LSU and Clemson last year on their way to 19 wins and the CIT.   Akron played two true freshman a total of 76 minutes between them.  Another true freshman started for Abreu and had a nightmare first game (10 minutes, 2pts, 5 to, 3 pf).  This is not a bad loss. Frustrating maybe but not a total shock.

Looks like another bad night for the MAC.

BG had a chance to take down Cleveland State in regulation but Jordan Crawford turned the ball over with the game tied and the Falcons working for the last shot.  The Vikings win 79-73

Buffalo came out flat and was down 20 in the first half against Florida State but clawed their way back to single digits in the second half.  They were down 7 with about 10 minutes to go and then they were outscored 30-10 the rest of the way.

Toledo is getting destroyed by Minnesota.

Central Michigan is actually making a respectable showing at Iowa down 9 late in the second half.

Akron steamrolled some high school.
