Well it helped they did the same ticket pricing promotion that they did for Gary Trent's game. Plus of course raising a Sweet 16 banner is pretty much just as an important event as Gary's recognition.
So what? At this point, it still takes a massive promotion/advertising effort to fill the Convo. And that's OK. Hopefully we get to the point someday where it's a more common occurrence, but until then - it's going to take some serious "smoke and mirrors". They have advertised the absolute heck out of this game...it seems to me much more so than even the Gary Trent day.
Still, there are only maybe 40-50 basketball programs in the country that have the ability to draw a crowd of 12,000+. We're one of them - and that's pretty neat.
