Does anybody know why Nick was denied his second free throw?

Looked like one of the guys outside the three point line stepped over the line.

Ivo stepped over the line, or at least that was the call. I've never seen that called before. I think the officials just wanted one more opportunity make the game about them. Ed Hightower acted like 6,000 bought tickets to watch him blow a whistle all night.

But would you rather have Ed Hightower doing the game or some of the guys we usually get?  Hightower has done a ton of Final 4's and is a quality referee IMO. Not to mention a really decent guy who holds 4 degrees.

Hightower is from the "TV Ted Valentine" school of trying to be the show himself. It was frustrating, to say the least.

We were pretty sloppy tonight, which can be expected when we're getting out rebounded and don't have the size advantage, maybe.

Agree with you regarding TV TEd. Many officals lament the assignment when he is with them.

I have seen that many times ...irks me because it is just sloppy negligence on the players part.

There are many things that are judgement calls but the lines on the key are fixed and it is a simple call. I thought we got away woth a few OOB after made baskets where we did not get all the way out of bounds and stepped over the line inbounding the ball tonite

What happened was IVO left the line to get back. No sense having anyone but the shooter on the line. Just asking for an over the back call. Anyway when he left the line he was inside the 3 point line hence the violation.

Man

that was a flashback you just triggered.

I left the line after the ref handed the shooter the ballin 7th grade because I was to be the back man on the diamond press.. My coach gave me a talking to I have never forgot......and because of that every kid I have coached in grade schol has been well schooled in the more obscure and arcane rules of hoops.

That was not a pleasant place to be during morining coffee. THose flashbacks are pretty vivid.

Joey Crawford is still the undisputed king of the me-me-me refs.
