Not to poo poo JK, but he took 26 shots, had only 2 assists and turned it over 6 times.  Although his 11 for 26 sure is better than the rest of the team at 8 for 39.

I watched most of that game. The Spartans depend on Kinney a ton to create for their offense. He really doesn't have much help. His skill has grown a ton from where he was at Ohio, and we all know he was pretty good for us. He did appear to have a short temper, jawing with refs, teammates, and Bill Self.

I fully support jawing at Bill Self.

His effective FG% was 50%.  Sounds like he didn't take enough shots.  He also had 7 rebounds and 5 steals.  And it's hard to have too many assists when the rest of the team isn't hitting shots.  Even with the 6 turnovers that's a hell of a game against top competition.

Our effective FG % is 58% for the year....his 50% for the game doesn't exactly blow me away.  I know he was playing Kansas, I just think the 30 points is slightly misleading.  And yes it is tough to rack up assists when your teammates aren't shooting, but he has always had the turnovers outweigh the assists.  He is a good player and I hope his success continues, but I wouldn't take him over any of our starters.

While I would agree with you based on how well we are playing together, who is to say that he would be the same type of player (taking a ton of shots) if he had stayed in a system that promotes more ball movement and was playing with as much talent as we have on the roster?  I sure wouldn't mind having him, but I love the group of guys that we have.

That's puts us 10th in the nation out of 347 teams.  50% would be in the top 25 percent of teams in the nation. 50% is a good number.

Most players have more turnovers than assists. His job is to score, not pass.
