According to Bleacher Report's Erik Schultz.

Can't really argue. Obviously, MAC play is most important, but if we want national attention, at-large bid consideration, and a solid seed in the NCAA's, this is a HUGE month, starting tomorrow.

I won't deny that the games that are noted in the article/blog are important, but they are meaningless if OUr guys go through the conference schedule at 11-5 again.  Still need to win 13-14 games in conference to assure themselves of at-large potential.  I'm sure the team aren't thinking this way, and are focusing on the next game on the schedule, but that's the reality in my opinion.

But 13-14 MAC wins does not assure an at-large selection. Unless it's paired with strong non-conference results.

if we win 14 games in the MAC and lose to Memphis, Oklahoma and UMass (assuming no other OOC losses) we will get an at large if we make it to the finals of the MAC tourney.  I guarantee it.   Our RPI would be in good shape and we'd have a 28-6 record.

No, but 5 MAC losses (especially when 2 of them are to West division teams) assures against an at-large selection

I don't trust the NCAA.

I'd argue us losing to Memphis, Oklahoma and UMass is more unlikely than us not getting into the Big Dance in the situation you provided.

NCAA doesn't make the picks.

That's a tough one.  I'd tend to agree with you, but I'd rather see one of those as a "W" so there's a check in the "quality win" column.  Agree with those who say we can't lose to the West Division, especially since we have Toledo and EMU at home for games vs the West.
