You people need to realize that just because Ivo is tall he is not a post player. Half of the night he was on a perimeter player and offensively he is a face the basket kind of guy.

reallly > ?

I can serve up 3 years of game films showing him as a pretty servicable big down low on the block with some pretty cat loke moves and good footwork against many bigger guys.

I think I can look past the fact that he is tall and kind of have a feel for where he fits on the floor both presently and historically as his game has taken shape and continues to evolve. If you want to debate it over a beer Iwould be happy to bring a laptop ans have you show me where you think me may be most effective. Not that my opinion carries any weight or is based in any basketball accumen. ...but I am always really happy to hear an opinion and learn something about the game.

I will defer to Coach Christian and the fact that he's playing Ivo on the outside facing the basket. And like tonight was guarding their small forward and not their post he's still being serviceable, numbers are up in every category but FT's and guys are trying to throw the young man under the bus.

I am not arguing that, how Christian is using him  or throwing him under the bus.

I simply contested your statement that he ' is not a post player'

Au  Contrare.

He is a pretty good post player.\

He may also be a wing player but you are selling him way short to discount his presence in the post.\

I like guys who can play multiple positions. Especially when they do them equally as well. Any kid who can play the 2,3, and 4 and temporarily guard or maybe draw a charge on a 5 is OK in  MY BOOK

k to the title of the thread, artiicle on Kadeem leaving Mizzou

I never said you were throwing him under the bus, I said "guys are throwing him under the bus" If you take offense to that then sorry. But was not intended to you directly.

“We obviously wish Kadeem nothing but the best as he moves forward with this decision,” Coach Frank Haith said in a statement.

Pretty sure that is the "future endeavors" speech.

If ANYONE has news on Kadeem's status for Saturday thatd be awesome. Last day of finals is Friday, so I hope we can see him on the court Saturday so he can atleast get in a groove going into the UMASS game. We should be able to take Winthrop without him I would think, but would be nice to see him out there.

What does defense assignment have to do with position played on the offense?

I think he has to wait for grades to be posted, which would be next Tuesday.

Given the title of this thread my comment doesn't really belong here but I had to reply to Borna's contribution.  I believe Ivo does have a post game, and a decent one.  Not one of banging with the big boys, but one of taking advantage of those big boys with up-and-unders, a deft glide into the lane for a little hook/bank, reverse lay-ups, or even a lane-fadeaway from 4-6 feet.  These were all shots I saw him take when he made a big performance jump between his freshman and sophomore years.  My point is that I do think Ivo can contribute in the post on this team.  But it's true that so many times in the past two years Ivo gets into the paint and then dishes.  The foul shot problem (yes it's a problem in my mind not some statistical anomaly) is born of this lack of aggressiveness to attack the hoop when in the lane and not use the situation to get an outside jumper.  Ivo does have a post game, but like other posters I'm not sure how he's being coached about that game.  Seems to me the guy needs to get to the stripe, regardless of outcome, and soon, just to show he can get there.  Because he can.
