That's pretty much how I interpret what this team and coach are saying to each other
....and they're both right.
This team and coach are a basketball mismatch.
Groce built this team according to his blueprint which isn't exactly basketball color by numbers so to speak. Coach Christian strikes me as just a dime a dozen coach who will never be an innovator in any aspect of the game.
Coach Grobe once said (while he was here) "You either have to do it better than the other guys or you have to do it different." Christian can't do either but he is better than most on a "mid major" level so once he gets "his guys" in here I expect things to actually turn around. ( I just realized that people may not know I actually mean the former football coach)
He will just get his butt kicked in the 1st round of any NCAA tourney we make it to under his reign due to the fact that he does things the same way most everyone else does only with inferior talent compared to what he'll face in the round of 64. Unless he finds a special player that slipped through the cracks then he'll just compete very well in season and not much else.
This team is really only built to play one way and Christian doesn't know that way --- they (seniors) deserve a better ending to their great run here and perhaps it will happen if the coach/team grows together from the adversity they're going through.
Coach Christian may not be as bad as some think in here but he definitely proved he's nothing special when he coached in a "big boy" league.
His recruits seem to be very capable of winning big in the MAC in my opinion.
