OHIO +1
Is that respect, or they just not very good? Don't know a thing about UMASS, but was still kind of expecting in the +5-7 range.
Probably some of both. UMass' scores aren't real impressive. Wins against Elon and Northeastern by five and six their last two games. Won by 1 at Siena. Three losses are all by double digits. Doesn't mean they aren't good, but they haven't showed it so far.
Despite the loss to Winthrop, Ohio is 50th in the nation in the Sagarin predictor ratings. UMass is 171. Based on his ratings, Ohio would be a five-point favorite.
Winthrop, by the way, is 194, with the nation's fourth-hardest schedule. Nothing like the 345 rating (RPI) so many were talking about.
