No adjustments, stale offense, bad shots, bad shooting, bad coaching. The refs were bad but our talent is 20 points better than Winthrop. How does this team only manage 49 points? That was flat out embarrassing.

Didn't see or hear it.  But...Winthrop.  See the game thread predictions (32, 100..Vegas not even making a line).  Over reacting?  Sounds like this one approached the k word.

I agree with 695. For sure one of the worst when you consider the very good team we have. Flat, disinterested, unengaged group that looked like they could go thru motions and get win.I am a huge JC fan but too am concerned that it appeared no adjustments were made.  I am sure everything will get tuned in but this is a loss that could sting us come March.

Yea, it definitely ranks in the top 5, if not better especially considering this was Winthrop's first win over a D-1 program this year.  I still want to believe but this team appears to be rapidly going into the tank.  So much for another "dream" season!

At least we can now officially end the suspense over at-large consideration. All that matters now is three days in Cleveland in March. The rest is just window dressing.

You are beyond clueless!  Epic fail today, one of the worst I have seen in many a year at home.  A team with this group of seniors shouldn't lose to that team,  especially in the manner they lost to them.  Fail from coaching staff to players, especially starting five.

Yes, sucks to lose, get over it.  It will happen again.  We are a good team! and it will carry on.  

This was not the worst loss in a decade... that is my point.

why was samford so bad?  By the way I watched that game tape just a week ago.... that gym is a crackerbox but I am not sure they were ranked as low as WU and I know they had played a tougher schedule up to that point than WU.

IMO the worst Ohio loss in my history from 1973 to the present was in March, 2012.  Leading by 4 points with the ball very late in the game against NC.  The loss caused a loss of notority that cannot compare to losing to Winthorpe.

LIkewise, worst loss in football--letting the Buckeyes off the hook when you had them exactly where a team looking for an upset could only hope to be.  From potential immortals to O$U hasn't lost to another college team in Ohio since Oberlin. 

Losses happen.  But when you have the chance on a silver platter in either case you have to win.  The opportunity likely will never again present itself.

That is kind of misleading when looking at the season. NOt sure 16 and 16 is a losing season but close enough and they were closer to the median than the current 345 I think I read on the WU team we just played. h

THe actual season end stats were mid major more than Low major  but let the masses here read facts and decide which was a worse loss. Now 11 more please.

Overall: 16-16, .500 W-L% (168th of 325)
Conference: 12-8, 5th in OVC (Schedule and Results)
Coach: Jimmy Tillette (16-16)

PS/G: 59.3 (313th of 325) ▪ PA/G: 60.4 (20th of 325)
SRS: -6.72 (223rd of 325) ▪ SOS: -4.78 (245th of 325)

Please be sure to click on the handy schedule results tab above  and find me more than the one non D1 game which is more than offset by the Arizona game. I suppose most schools we beat last year will say the same when they look at Marietta on our schedule. Anyone can cherry pick. OVC , Swac, Pac 10 MAC CAA and HOrizon look ok to me. I do not think you are gonna find 11 more'

Our high rebounder was 4, out boarded by 10, and got beat by their 5 starters, as they scored zero points off the bench and we got spanked by 14! By a team that more people equated with a family owned junk yard more than a basketball team.


And it's hard to compare season end stats of Samford to 9-10 games of Winthrop. Let the season payout then judge them. As for Sanfond and Son loss, that was just one of many lowlights of the dark days of Timothy &*^%
