What did you think of Dave Cecutti's debut as STO's color guy alongside Reghi?

In case you're wondering where Steve Mix went, he took the HC job for the women's team at D-III Trine College in Indiana.

Any of the above is better than Mix.

I was at the game so I didn't see it, but Mix was terrible during OUr tournament run last year so I'm also of the opinion that pretty much anything -- even an empty chair -- would be better.

It was hard giving Cecutti a true grade because I was so delighted not having to listen to Mix.

Mix had his good moments, too.  But I thought his bias against "Ohio U." and especially DJ clouded his judgment at times.  Also, he sometimes didn't do his research...like last year when he said we weren't good defensively.

Some of his criticism of DJ was justified but he also went overboard with it.

So what you're saying is President Obama would be better than Mix?

I was out of town and couldn't make it to the game so i got to see the broadcast.  I think Cecutti was fine.

My favorite moment was Reghi emphatically calling "Tommy Hall knocks down the 3!"

Mix had my least favorite verbal tick- responding to every comment with "oh, there's no doubt about it".

gets under my skin. there's no doubt about it.

That must have been the game I missed.

Mix also automatically laughed at every tired Reghi cliche.

I flipped over in the second half to hear what they had to say and because I like to see replays. Why do they put the score in the top middle of the screen? Its distracting and some plays were actually missed because the score was in the way.

I don't understand how they couldn't tell the new guy we prefer Ohio.

And, as always, the correct choice would have been Bob Donewald.

They probably did but from my experience, "professionals" don't like to be told what to do and will often do the opposite for spite.

Cecutti is professional? I figured the modifier would have been inexpensive. Also: sweaty.

I think he did ok for someone who by his own admission doesn't watch a lot of MAC b-ball.  He actually brought up that we had UNC beaten but missed the front ends of a couple of 1+1s.  Could've been on a note card, but that's something that the can't-do-even-basic-homework empty suits on ESPN wouldn't have come up with.

Splitting hairs, but I'm pretty sure Michael Reghi said that, not Cecutti. I remember exactly when he said it.

Donewald would have been a good choice.  Also, how about Charlie Coles?

I'm looking forward to actually hearing Cecutti.  I'm hoping Saturday night's STO game.
