Wait a minute.  And what follows is not in any way meant to be critical of DJ.  Rather, it's aimed at this 'holy/deification' point of view for any player or coach.

Just because a player is very good does not mean that specific plays or decisions are perfect, are not worth of analysis.  (I do believe that comments should be general...not personal attacks.)  And records may not be a barometer and should not serve as a barrier to legitimate, fair, gentle critique.  (Records can be broken merely by longevity.  I get it--a player who starts every game for four years is likely to be a very good player, so there's talent/skill behind the records which are achieved via longevity.  But we all make mistakes and can learn from others' advice and opinion.  We'd be foolish not to.)

The greater part of the analysis on this board is done with good intention. I just don't buy this 'no critique' perspective.

When DJ dishes the ball that many times and does not force things, OHIO wins.  JC said it correctly, DJ was composed and made few mistakes (including shot selection) the whole game.  That is our recipe...when DJ makes those around him better players!

DJ may go down as the BEST player in Ohio history when it's all said and done. He's already done more from a team standpoint (i.e. winning, postseason success) than anyone else. If we make it to March Madness this season, I don't think there's any argument.

His jersey will be hanging next to Trent's in the not-too-distant future.

Or the famous quote by a great mentor/coach "when your point guard runs the show you often win, when your point guard is the show you often don't"

DJ is running the show.

He also came in at the right time. We lost Bert and Ernie and the cupboard was bare. He was able to take over without sitting behind anyone or splitting time. That does not diminish his accomplishments but I suspect it will be a long time before any PG or many players come to OHIO and start from day 1.

Bert and Ernie - I thought you were talking about Ernie and Bernie.  Regardless, here's a project for someone.  Put together a Bobcat family tree much like you see on the liner notes for bands.  It would take some work but it would be priceless.

Ughhhhhh - DJ does not get trashed. No Bobcat fan in the world exists that would trade DJ for any other player in the conference. Its like saying a Yankee fan who said Babe Ruth strikes out a lot doesnt appreciate him and "trashes" him.

There was a national 'WTF?!' highlighter in there.  Too bad that there's no replay on the vidcasts.  It was in the 2nd half and DJ was just below the foul line on the left side of the lane.  I think that he bounced it thru his legs (or behind his back thru someone else's legs?) to Ivo (? Reg?) for a lay-up. It was amazing.

Anyone have access to video of the game so we can see that one again?  Gotta be sent to SportsCenter.

DJ's been dishing it this year.  Absolutely.

usually up in the on demand in a bit. Evan is really good with that. I wanted to be able to go back and watch those rewinds but they do not seem to be in the on demand section. Loved watching the pregames on the vid boards. NOt sure where to find them on the web.

You are right that was awesome to see Walt dive and DJ with his back to the basket drop it with his left hand.
