Wow.

Both have come a long way since I witnessed in person the Memphis debacle.

Nice growth game for the Bobcats. Its almost February so its time for the team to start playing championship level basketball again.

Reg should have his own thread today! 9 for 9!  And at least 3 were from deep range.

Marvelous passing by DJ and Ivo.

Hats off to about 4 Toledo players who made tough shots all night draped with Bobcats--less than 10 points by Toledo were of the cheap variety, they had to earn everything else.

Nice to see the increased pressure starting the second half as well as the pressure when Toledo started to make several different runs to close the gap.

Pour outside shooting tonight but high percentage shots by Reg, Ivo and Ric along with a few drives by Walt were too much for the Rockets.  Too bad the boys shoot foul shots like Akron.  That could be a deciding factor real soon and whoda believed that Nick could miss two of two!

Keely is now shooting 68 percent from the floor. Seventeen points better than last season. And he already was a 51 percent shooter a season ago. Seniors.

Those guys were incredible in the lane. I wish we had 3's and 4's that could do that consistently. It reminded me of why I became a huge Offutt fan last year.

We dodged a bullet last niight by the sheer will of Reg and Ric in the second.

Certainly would not be surprised to see Ric begin to get more more minutes as we head into the 'meat" of our schedule, especially if the better defensive teams that are on the way continue to take away Kellog's wide open 3's.   We desperately need the aggressive boad effort that Ric and Walter bring.  Anyone who watched  Kent and Akron pound the boards early Saturday afternoon will agree that we could be in serious trouble inside against those "bigs".   We need our guards and small forwards to attack long rebounds and come up with the ball to help  our "under-sized" bigs.   I believe that our ability to improve down the stretch with these type of "team rebounds", hustle plays could go a long way towards determining our success.  It was great to see Ric stick his nose in there and come up with some big plays on Saturday!

What's the all time Ohio record for consecutive made field goals without a miss?

The stats show Reg was perfect two games straight (9+2) and perhaps three games ago he finished with a make on his last shot or last couple of shots.

That has to be some type of record or very close.

To contrast this, I wonder how many games back or seasons back where you could find a player making 11 straight free throws?  IMO,  on free throws, a team should always have 2-3 guys who are on a clip of having made their last 8-10.

Arkley says he finished with 2 makes the game prior, making his streak 13/13 over 3 games.  http://www.athensohiotoday.com/blogs/bobcat_blog/bobcat-r...
