All that matters is that you have a winning record and at least a 50-55 RPI.  Then, you are in.  If you don't meet both those criteria, you are probably out.

I would say top 40 is fairly safe in the 68-team field.

To say top 50-55, that woudl mean 13-18 teams get in the tournament based on automatic-qualifying only. It's usually on the higher end of that. Usually teams seeded 13-16 would not be in the tourney if not for the auto bids, so that's 18. But I'd say that 40-50 range is more of a bubble range typically.

The age old conversation of whether we get in if we lose in Cleveland...I for one am ready for a change.  That change would be this every other year thing between OUr team and Akron.  It's time for OHIO to be two time MAC Tournament Champions in 2012 and 2013.  That's what I'm cheering for to pair with a regular season title this year.

Id agree.  Looking at our OOC schedule, the best bets for anyone we beat to make the tourney would be Richmond, maybe Oakland if they could get hot in their conference tourney.  But that would be it.

Everyone is missing the big picture here, we can speculate and guess until we're blue in the face - just as the talking heads can do for ESPN. But it means NOTHING.  The Bobcats need to take care of business one game at a time, and keep everyone healthy.  If that happens then they should be the 1 or 2 seed with a bye to Friday night.  Not that promises anything, because momentum is what you really want in March, not necessarily rest.  Bobcats need to go 1-0 Wednesday night against EMU.  Then start focusing on Saturday at Akron.

40 minutes at a time folks....

Just remember what happened the last time a certain Bobcat team was 7-0... we need to relax on the at-large talk.  Unless we win every game but the title game there is no chance of it happening.
