Their zone could give us fits, and they like to slow the game down.  Not exactly our best matchup.  They have some shot blockers too.  Hopefully it will be raining threes in the Convo Wednesday.

This has all the makings of a trap game. Sandwiched between a huge road win in a place where we never win and a matchup with Akron with sole possession of 1st place on the line.

At least we got them at home this year, and don't have to go up there to play in front of 300 people.

Yeah, we're probably 12 point 'dogs in Vegas (16 in Atlantic City).  EMU is a really good team if we win this one we'll probably be ranked #21 though we'll be lucky as heck to even get a W and you can only hope that at least none of our guys get hurt because we're gonna struggle the whole game and thank goodness this is not at their place with their home court advantage.

gotta go.  repairs needed; the sky just fell.

EMU is the only MAC team we did not have a win against last year.

But I think the big motivator for our team right now is Akron being undefeated. OUr guys hate that team and use this type of competitiveness to stay focused. They know they can beat Akron at home, away, or in a MACC game, but they haven't beat them for a regular season championship yet. I think we're good as long as the Zips keep winning too.

Can we hit for five in the first half against 'em?

let me tell you watching last year in person was truly painful. it felt like the Cats only scored 5 points in the first half. any team in the MAC can beat any other team. Heck, who thought those lowly Winthrop fellows had a chance.  that's all i'm saying. effort will be required. do i expect the cats to handle the EMUs handily? yeppers. i'm just saying be ready.

"Lowly Winthrop" is still better than the bottom 2-3 teams in the MAC.  NIU almost isn't a D1 basketball school.

The issue in this game is to see if OUr guys can conquer the 2-3 zone.  I'm not sure any Groce team did well against a 2-3 zone.  I hope JC has an approach ready to change that.  One thing we know - EMU isn't going to score much no matter how they play defense.
