These uniforms are one of those things you either like or you don't. I'm not a fan, but I'm more on the traditional side of things.

I don't think this is ever something you would see us do, at least under the current athletic department brain trust. We do not generally push radically different concepts like these.

We were far from the first school to do a black uniform, though. We just capitalized on the growing trend.

Akron is probably the first team with a Twitter name on their jersey. I'm just saying that we would never do something as new/gimmicky/different as that. Not OUr style (and I'm thankful that it isn't).

its funny that they're changing their uniforms so we'll have to wear our home whites on the road. I think in the last 3 years we've only worn our home whites against Akron once, at home in 2010. The last 2 home games have been green-outs and we wore green and black in the 2 MACC games. We're 0-1 in our home jerseys and 5-2 in the roads.

Maybe they want to see what we look like in our whites because we'll be wearing them as the top seed in Cleveland.

Say what you want about Akron but this was a great marketing campaign. It has created a great deal of awareness. They sent these boxes with a jersey inside to the likes of Bilas, katz etc. Pretty smart. It must have been created by an outside marketing firm, no one at Akron could be smart enough to come up with this on their own.

For the Akron game if the O Zone could pull off a #Sweet16 by people wearing white shirts against the crowd of green, that would be pretty impressive. Keep the hashtag folks in place and throw in a #NIT at the end when Ohio drops the hammer on them and that would be classic.

I just wish our athletic dept. would endorse one official hashtag for our teams. It would be a nice way to find other Ohio fans during games and get everybody on the same page. Off the top of my head, I've seen: #Bobcats, #OhioBobcats and #OhioU, among others.
