Usually, I'm not too concerned about getting the #1 seed in the MAC tourney. Most years, being #1 or #2 doesn't really matter because each is likely to face a similar-level opponent; there usually isn't that much difference in the 3 through 6 seeds. This year, though, we're likely to have three really good teams -- Ohio, Akron and WMU -- and a big gap to the #4 seed, thanks to Toledo being ineligible for the tourney. We're only halfway through the season and already there's a 2-1/2 game gap between #3 WMU (6-2) and #4 EMU (3-4). There's a real potential that the the #4 seed won't have a winning conference record, and that could mean a big difference between who the #1 and #2 seeds meet in their first game at the tourney. It's not too early for the notion that Ohio needs to shoot for the #1 seed, meaning we have to win out (and maybe get help). It's not a panic situation, but there should be a real sense of urgency.

Given that it's been the focus from the beginning to win the regular season crown, I'm sure there is that sense of urgency. I'm personally quite interested to see how they respond at Ball State on Wednesday. I expect that they'll win, but I want to see how they play. After that 5 of the remaining eight at home bodes well with the Bracketbuster sprinkled in between.

I'd rather play Western than Eastern.

In Cleveland, I don't really care who we play. We'll only play Friday and Saturday, correct?
If that's the case, bring on Eastern or Western. It'll pretty much be a home game.

Playing at EMU is almost like a neutral court game.
