A lot of that was the defense they were playing.  Their main focus was to keep DJ out of the lane so they backed everyone down tight.  They actually did pretty well at it and if they were even remotely competant on offense they might have given us a game.  But their offense is horrible and they can't handle the press.   Bye-bye Billy Taylor.

IVO BALTIC.....why does he play so much.  He is scared period.  Never seen somebody so nervous about going to the rim.  5 ft fade away jump shot.  he will not at any cost go for a layup.  Christian, please don't play him.  Play him 5 minutes a game to give the other players a breather.  I'd rather have sophmore Ivo than senior Ivo.

Uhhhh, he hit 50% from the field and led us in rebounding with 8 in just over 20 minutes.

He's "scared"? Huh? I suspect you never played the game beyond the age of 10.

Really like TJ's game. He has great instincts on offense and seems to know what's doing on defense. His knees look healthier. Hope he continues to improve!

He did a lot in 10 minutes. But the negative was fouling out .... can't pick up 5 in 10.

Ivo was terrible and Jim Christian hung his head all night.   We won by 27 on the road, granted to a bad team, but still complaints.......wow.

I stated FACTS. As opposed to the poster who shot from the hip with an emotional outburst. The game is 40 minutes ...

WHO was our leading rebounder?

What was Ivo's % from the field?

Don't answer .... and you I know never played b-ball at any level. Being an Ozoner doesn't make you knowledgeale of the game. Although you may think otherwise ...

Funny how a number of you attack Ivo. His stats are not too shabby. I don;'t like to attack kids but if we are looking who is struggling I say it's Nick. His shot looks really off right now.

 Ivo's numbers this year:

Season Averages
SEASON TEAM MIN FGM-FGA FG% 3PM-3PA 3P% FTM-FTA FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS

I forgot that if you played basketball, you're an expert of the game.

Now I know why Isaiah Thomas and Jordan have had incredible success in management . . .

Care to elaborate on your logic (or lack thereof) here?

And reading comprehension ... uhh, read my original post.  Then re-read it. Then re-think your post.

And last ... go back to my post about Ivo's stats tonight.

Yes, you stated a couple facts, considered no context, and then insulted the poster. But you're the rational one, right?

Just got back.

— Ball State is bad, but the defensive effort in the first half was wonderful. Complete effort in the first half. No dogging at any time from anyone on the defensive end.

— Showing Majok Majok shooting free throws  on a loop to a prisoner of war is considered a violation of the Geneva convention.

— As for the Ivo argument, I actually thought he played really well...except his hands were made of stone tonight. It was just one of those night's where he couldn't grip the ball. To be honest, everyone on both sides had butterfingers tonight.

Ball State is bad.

—That three from the corner that Kellogg hit right in front of his dad was needed. He needs to get his shot back and you could tell Christian was going to leave him out there until one went down for him. Hopefully it's part of a turnaround. I don't think anyone thinks he's going to keep struggling to shoot the ball too much longer.

Ball State is bad.

— Walt was nails. Bounced back from that Akron game nicely. Loved to see him do it in Indiana, too.

Ball State is bad.

— David McKinley's terrorizing of opposing defenses in the final minute of the game continued. And Goff shots. Nothing but Goff shots.

Ball State is bad. Like, really bad.  Like, a Ball State fan next to me said the YMCA six year olds at halftime were going to score more than Ball State in the second half quality of bad.

— And I'd take that 10 minutes of quality play from Hall, even if it meant he fouled out every game. He was a difference maker in his short time out there.

So by your logic, none of  Ozoners, former and current, know nothing about the game.  Sounds legit.

Brian, keep in mind that this "bad" Ball State team nearly won at Akron and beat Miami by 20 on the road.  They've had their moments this season.

This is the best part of the post game portion of this thread.  Well, that and the repeated "Ball State is Bad."

I honestly believe you could replace "Ball State" with "Most of The MAC".  Truly, there's not a single reason for OU, Akron or Western to lost more than two games each.  The rest of this conference is so inconsistent.  Yes, Ball State or CMU have given a few teams some good games - on their best nights - but most of the conference is BAD this year.

We throttled a team on the road with Coop only playing 25 minutes and scoring 5 points.

We can try to overanalyze this one.  But I see no reason to do so.  If anything, this game is showing us how spoiled we're becoming.  We're trying to find things to complain about in a 27 point victory.

Yeah, on the positive side, just completed a 4-game MAC road streak with a 3-1 mark. Ball st. was bad and it's tough to say how much Ohio contributed to their "badness". But they did exactly what was needed against a bad team. Jumped on them early and never let up. Now, it's time to get back home and start fine-tuning everyone's game for March.

My view:  Don't talk to me about games we absolutely should win (that's 3 of the last four road games, right?!).

Talk to me about the games in which a W is not so certain.

Is any particular insight really gained from overwhelming Ballie on the road?

Agree to some point, but that would knock out 80% of our schedule.

Akron has struggled much more to put these kind of teams away and its come close to biting them a couple times. I'm glad Ohio has had a killer instinct to put away inferior teams early.
