Belmont is very active that can shoot threes.  Very good passers and the guards can pentrate with the pass.

Murray St. size is giving them problems.  Belmont works extremely hard.

I've been watching this one since the under 8 media TO.  A few of my observations:

-Murray State has a fantastic building, and tonight a great atmosphere. (and then after, we get to see this awful floor at Oregon)

-Both of these teams are NCAA Tournament worthy.
-Belmont's press/trap could give OUr guys some trouble.
-Belmont with a bunch of solid players and good shooters
-Isiah Canaan is just fantastic to watch, and can beat opponents in so many ways offensively.

-Is the OVC better than the MAC this year?  Seems like they could be be to me.  Murray State and Belmont definitely comparable to Ohio and Akron.

There used to be a number of quality hoops teams in the OVC but not so much right now after those two.  Austin Peay is in a down period.  Tennessee Tech is also.  TSU has a power forward projected to be drafted in the 2nd round but not much else.  EKU started strong but faded since then.

If Dave Loos at APSU will go full time as A.D. and hire an energetic young coach, they could return to their old form.  His shelf life as a coach there is about over.

If Ohio can break the press, stop Belmont's motion offense backdoor cuts, defend the perimeter, not turn the ball over too much - they could get a win at the Curb Events Center.  But that's a long list to take care of.

Sorry to see Belmont lose, I hoped we would get them undefeated in conference so we could make a statement come bracketbuster.  They shot 52% from the field, including 43% from three.  I think they had 12 turnovers.  I missed the game, how did they lose?

this was the 1st of 4 road games for Belmont, they're not back at home until we roll into town. Hopefully the road wears them down a little bit.

They went to a full court press that was not effective until the late stages of the game when it started causing turnovers and they started hitting outrageous contested three's to erase a 15 point deficit.  It was a wild finish.  Murray hit their free throws and had a HUGE clutch three late from Canaan to seal it.

There were points in the game before that where Murray was raining threes.  Belmont would get some easy backdoor baskets but trading two's for three's put them in a hole for much of the night

Ohio can't get frustrated if they get grabbed and hacked trying to break the press if the refs don't call a foul every time.  Officiating can be pretty crappy these days and you just have to play through it.
