Word to the wise... whatever you hear about the exhibition "game" Troy plays tomorrow against a below-NAIA level team, take it with a huge grain of salt. That mystery affiliated team has been blown out by the two obscure NAIA level teams they dared to play so far.

I can't believe it's already basketball season.

I think the first few games we're gonna see a lot of different line-ups. Not sure what I expect, but I hope we run, run, run. Too many good guards to not pile up the points. I think we all know we're in trouble inside, so we're gonna have to win a lot of games with the 3.

+1. I hope we emulate a style of VCU’s “havoc” and turn defense into offense with uptempo transition. I’m not ready to say we’re in trouble inside (someone over 6’7 has to be formidable enough, right?); but we definitely won’t be leaning into it like previous years.

I'm excited to see our talent. I think in these early games where teams haven't quite figured out their rotations and what works for their squad, talent wins out.

Given that clearly Boals has no problem redshirting young, healthy players for their own development, reading deeply, I hope that means Ajay has improved enough to stay in the regular rotation now that Shareef is the logical backup to Jaylin.

I don't know if Troy had an exhibition but their game today against Ft. Lauderdale very much looked like knocking rust off.

Amazing this info on Nicol came from a national writer and not anyone in the media know in Athens. Not surprised by the redshirt.

I don't feel great about this game, not that it matters in the slightest.

My prediction is that OUr offense is going to struggle and take some time to gel. Outside of Jaylin, we don't really have a consistent scorer. The second scoring option is totally up in the air IMO and I'm looking forward to seeing who steps up. I'm guessing AJB + EJ3 will try to fill that void.

I'd like to see Jaylin average 18+ a game this year, up from 13 last year.

Thought it would be fun or at least try throwing out some player Bobcat Attack prop bets for each game. This is for entertainment purposes. I'll start and I don't think you'll find this prop at Ceasars in Vegas.

The Whiz vs Troy: Points/Rebounds/Fouls (Over/Under is set at 7 1/2.....I'll say under 7 1/2. If The Whiz doesn't get whistled for a moving screen, we have a chance to hit it).

AJB put up 18ppg in the MAC tourney and he passes the eye test. I think it’s no question he’s the second option. We also return 10ppg from Miles, 8ppg from Clayton, and 7ppg from EJ4. These guys know each other; chemistry is on our side this year unlike last. I’d be shocked if the offense sputters the way it did against Belmont a season ago.

As for Jaylin — I’ll be surprised if that happens. Boals said post exhibition he wants a 2-3 guys averaging in the low teens and a lot of guys averaging around 8ppg.

Andrew...sorry about that with The Whiz prop. Yes...the total of those three: Points/Rebounds/Fouls. Keeping assists and turnovers out of The Whiz prop for tonight. The season is young.....I'll mix up the categories moving forward.

I'll make Vegas shout- out. I want to see Troy have +15.5 turnovers with our guard play. I'm looking forward to a visit to the warm confines of the Convo for a change of pace. This will be a nice test early in the season. My prediction is it will look like street-ball for a few game, as always.

Over on the "AJ's" & over on The Whiz, he came out strong last season. I am looking for some growth from Clayton ( not camping in the perimiter) unless OUr will drive to the hoop and hopefully get the foul if they don't score. The best guards in the last 30 years that penetrated the paint knew how to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line. Usually upperclassmen. I want to see that+ A.J & I.J. go Bobcats! These games actually do count BTW. Team moral, and possibly CBI/CTI, etc. 😁
