Not a chance in Hades I (or Boals) guarantee anybody anything. Ever.
You just don't do that. Unless you want to turn into the NBA where the inmates run the asylum and coaches are essentially figureheads because they're beholden to honoring promises to players. Great way to completely decimate morale and teamwork. What do you do when a "promised" guy starts struggling? Start him anyway at the detriment of the team? Bench him and risk a disgruntled player and mutiny? No. You don't do it to begin with.
Nor do I want a guy who's only willing to commit if given promises.
What you guarantee is an opportunity. Practice well. Prepare well. Lift/condition well. You'll earn the starting spot and PT. Plenty of minutes and stats available.
And Myles Foster, while I'd welcome the addition as he seems like a good player and fills a need for us, isn't greater than Boals or Ohio. If he decides he wants to come to Athens and compete great! If he doesn't, it's not the end of the world.
We're not talking about Gary Trent 2.0 here.
