It's entirely possible that the 6'9" mystery man is a player still in high school. It's a quiet period which allows for on-campus contact.
What is up with Zach Loveday? According to portal sites, he is still available?

A legit 7-footer?

This young man was not in high school. Not by 4 years or so.

It was not Cornish. I compared photos.

Samford huh?

Heard he had a visit at Marshall but they weren't impressed enough to offer.

Saw Boals tweeting about Kurtis Rourke today. I hope soon he's tweeting about finding portal gold in the 6'8-6'10 range. #focus

Poked around staff’s Twitter. Only new names that might fit this description are KC Ugwuakazi and David Meriwether. Both HS 23’ recruits. Could also be Larry Olayinka or someone entirely different than these three.

Trey Hall of Evansville also follows the entire staff. No one follows back. Looks like he struggled with injuries but had some big offers out of HS. He’s 6’9.

Meriwether has offers from Miami and Illinois State plus a few lower majors. His twitter indicates prep school next year but that could change if the right offer came in. KC has just one offer that I can tell (UNCG). Looks like a young Devaughn.

Anyone on this board have eligibility left? Or did we all take five years to graduate in four?

RayJ Dennis....to Baylor.

MAC rematch of Curtis Jones vs. RayJ Dennis when Iowa State and Baylor meet in Big 12.

I kinda remember hearing somewhere that RayJ was the reason Maddox and Cochran transferred to UT a year ago. Something about all 3 being buddies from the Chicago area.

RayJ leaving means Cochran will transfer to one of the Michigan directionals? Afterall, he's already made stops at NIU, BSU and UT. What's another MAC West school on the resume?

May have solved the mystery. Spoke with a fine young man today who was obviously a hoopster. Asked if he was a Bobcat as I didn’t recognize him and he stated that he will be starting OU-COM (med school) this fall and is currently in the school’s orientation. Name is Cameron Gardner Nicholson and graduated and played ball for Penn State Altoona (6-9 C). Asked if he’s been playing on the sand volleyball courts on campus and he confirmed.

Too bad he’s just a student (that’s what it sounds like). Kid had a pretty solid career.

That's him.

Glad he's a Bobcat even though not eligible to help us on the floor.

I actually met this young man in Whitt's several months ago, and then took him to lunch at the OU Inn. He's been on campus for awhile in a program for minority students to give them extra preparation before they enroll in medical school.

After landing Shereef and Ike back-to-back weeks, I didn’t expect us to not have a big by June. Our best case scenario is probably Alimamy Koroma of Cal Poly (haven’t seen an update in weeks) or Wilhem Breidenbach of Nebraska.

After that, I’d consider Khalid Gates (rumored to have contacted him in March). Who is probably closer to 6’6, but plays big and only a 1 year add. I don’t hate the idea of some of the HS prospects if they’re able to contribute this season. Otherwise, another wing who can play right away might make the most sense. Go small and run with Ike at the 5 on occasion and hope Clayton becomes more physical in the paint to start. Not ideal, but size is at a premium with dollars in the game now.

What's that dude do well? He's got a rebound rate that's somewhere between Ben Roderick and Quinn Corna, doesn't stretch the floor, and doesn't score inside. I guess he profiles as slightly above average defensively?

Y'all pray for me if we have SPECS and The Whiz roaming the paint during the 2023-2024 season.

Breidenbach might not seem impressive at surface level, but he did have double-digit outings against Illinois, Michigan State, and K-State this past season. At this stage of portal season, there’s some upside with him.

Reading Nebraska blogs, sounds like he prefers to play outside. Probably why he’s still available.

Are we setting ourselves up for the return of the twin-towers offense to college basketball with the Breidenbach and Witnitzer dual scoring machines? Asking for FearLeon and his psychiatrist.
