My hope for PT for JP v. the Cavs is that with the state of the NBA in 2022-23 teams are more likely to sit players the second night of back-to-back games.

As opposed to Wilt averaging 48.5 min/game in 1961-62, when he played in all 80 games. Astonishingly, Wilt missed only 8.5 minutes the whole season. And he missed those minutes only because he was ejected after picking up his second T.
I'm blown away by these numbers as well as his Min/G the year before (47.76) and the year after (47.58).

I am at the arena and just saw Boals. Hope he got to see JP and we’ll get to see him on the floor.

Cavs color commentator Austin Carr, "Ohio University, one of those colleges I really enjoyed."

To the tune of 61 points.

I was sure wrong earlier, he's in the rotation tonight with 12 minutes at half but Clips are down 30.

First double digit game of his career, being aggressive on offense and getting love from the Czar on the broadcast.

Career highs across the board, JP got highlighted in last minute and Ohio University was on the screen.

36 minutes, 6/12, 0/3 from the arc, 3 boards, 8 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers, 12 points.

Will be interesting where he ends up after this season, might be Europe. I don't see Clippers picking up the final year at 1.8 million. Good to see him put some minutes on tape.

I agree. He has NBA talent when it comes to passing and driving but his jumper and defense need work. I think they would both come with playing time but hard to imagine many teams with that kind of patience. He looked smooth passing the ball, had a couple of bad turnovers, got burned a few times on D (in fairness, the whole Clippers team were defensive no-shows) and missed all his mid-range jumpers and threes. He looked like he belonged and he has a ton of potential but his game does have some warts.

I wouldn't exactly go that far. My god...he missed his entire rookie season with an injury. If anything, I see JP getting traded to another NBA team and finding a place where he can play 8-10 minutes per game next season in year 3 which is really year 2 with the rookie year injury.

So awesome he had his first full workload game of his career in front of his old coaches and teammates. I was going to go up for it but decided I didn't want to make the effort to not see him play meaningful minutes...swing and a miss by me. Solid night, would've been great if he hit 1 or 2 more shots and had 1 or 2 less turnovers but looked like he belonged out there.

Was the plan to travel from Akron to see Jason? If so, what a great series of coincidences, being close to Cleveland when the Clippers were there, plus his court performance.

DNP for JP in two games since playing a career-high 37 minutes Sunday in Cleveland. I'm beginning to believe his PT will come in the second game of back-to-backs. The Clippers don't have one of those until early March and again in mid March. LA will actually play 3 games in 4 days in both cases. Unfortunately, none of those games are scheduled for ESPN, TNT or NBAtv.

Going to Knicks - Clippers tonight. John Wall is out, so hoping they creates a path to more minutes for Preston, though he's had a string of DNPs so may be unlikely. They've been starting a lineup without a true PG and bringing Reggie Jackson off the bench.

Maybe, but at a cost of a little more than 1% of their salary cap, it wouldn't surprise me to see him picked up for next year, especially with the Clippers already over the cap for next season. Sometimes players can survive on the fringe for a while like that. Of course, he could also be traded. Just please don't let him be teammates with Kyrie.

If Kyrie Irving gets traded to Clippers, quite possible JP could be moved in that deal.

Was thinking JP might get some minutes tonight with LAC visiting Brooklyn and the Nets without Kyrie, KD and Simmons while the Clippers are playing with George and Kawhi. However, Brooklyn, led by a couple of G-League call-ups, are leading with 5 minutes left in the 4th, leading to another DNP for JP.

Cam Thomas, 2nd year SG for the Nets, had 47 against the Clips tonight although lost the game. In their previous game on Saturday he had 44. Dude averages 8 ppg. Can you say feeeeeeelin' it? And I'm guessing he doesn't miss Kyrie.

Clippers are getting very active. Just got Eric Gordon and are making a play for Westbrook. Will be interesting if Preston survives the next 30 minutes as a Clipper (or is packaged as a throw in as trades get finalized) - certainly heading to G-league as the playoff push gets going if he stays with the organization..

Now they’ve traded away Reggie Jackson, so one PG in, one out.

Great day to be JP.

Wall gone.

Jackson gone.

Bones Hyland in.

JP has to be getting some meaningful minutes moving forward now.
