According to Pat Forde, TCU's win over Kansas may have supplanted our loss to Winthrop as the most unlikely upset of the year.  Thank you, JC's former team:

TCU 62, Kansas 55 (7). Numbers guru Ken Pomeroy says this is his second-biggest upset of the season, with the Jayhawks giving a 97.3 percent likelihood of winning pregame. The only bigger upset was Winthrop over Ohio (97.5 percent) earlier in the year, but since then Winthrop has improved. "Given what we know now, there's a strong case TCU-Kansas was more unlikely," Pomeroy told The Minutes. After conquering Kansas, the Horned Frogs promptly returned to being the Horned Frogs by losing at home to a bad West Virginia team by 13, then failing to score for the first eight-plus minutes in a 75-48 loss to Oklahoma. TCU is 10-14 overall, 1-10 in the Big 12, and the upset of the Jayhawks is its only win in the 2013 calendar year. KU coach Bill Self's pitiless (but accurate) appraisal: "It was the worst team Kansas has ever put on the floor since Dr. Naismith was there."

Still the only result to date that really bugs me.  The RMU game does too because we are better than them, but at least we can just point to them being very very tough to beat that night.  Oklahoma/Memphis/Mass is upsetting, but doesn't really bug me.

I think at large talk would be in swing if we could remove that Winthrop loss.

It was just such an uncharateristcally bad offensive game. Shot 36 percent with 18 turnovers and made 7 of 13 free throws. I think the Kansas-TCU game just goes to show these things happen to even the best of teams. That's basketball.

Goes to show why I can't stand those that say the game is over before it starts or 10 minutes into the game, ahead 12, that the game is over!

Yea, I hate that too.  I have been disappointed a couple times this season with Russ doing exactly that.  10-12 minutes to go in game and even up 20+ I cringe when I hear that pronouncement.  As the Optimist's tag line reads: "I've seen crazier things happen..."
