Is TJ Hall becoming our X factor just as we approach tournament time?
He is certainly coming on  strong.
He can shoot the 3 as well as take it to the hoop.
Yes, he could be that all important X factor.

It seems to me that the X-Factor is going to be the Bobcats being able to keep their heads when every team is trying to do anything it can to take our game from us.  We click when DJ is dropping dimes.  The best way teams have found to stop that is play more physical off the ball, thus keeping players from being able to get to or catch passes from DJ,  The physical play is pushed to the limits every game.

Yesterday, against BG, the refs let the game get our of control before reeling it in.  The X-Factor for the Bobcats was (and has been) finding different ways to combat the defensive strategies thrown up against them.  This certainly includes TJ, Smith, and Johnson at times. 

Also, I like the play of Stevie to spell DJ.  It is really nice to know that DJ can get a rest before the scheduled time outs and can sit out at the end of the game when the chippiness is at its highest.

IMHO the X-Factor is not one player but the fact that any one player can do something to turn the game in OUr favor.

I think it's Walt's consistency making threes that is the X factor.  We are very dangerous when he does.

I think our X-factor can be anyone. We have such a deep and talented bench that if one person isn't having a good day we can easily replace him. Cooper - Taylor, Kellogg - Wilkins/Johnson, Offut - Hall, Baltic - Hall/Smith, Keely - Smith/Green. Also, Green can be a force for rebounding if he can control his foul troubles. 

X-factor we can win almost any game if we learn how to play against the zone and rebound. 

DJ is OUr everything. And that includes being the X factor. This is DJ's team as it has always been and he steps it up come tournament time. Regular season bobcat basketball is much different than post season bobcat basketball. Just a little stat to back that up: this regular season DJ averages 10 field goal attempts per game. In the 6 post season games last year he averaged 14.5. Walt smacking 3's and slashing, Ivo hitting his mid range jumpers, and TJ doing a little bit of everything are all key to us playing our best ball. But none of those factors have nearly as much impact on a game than everything DJ does. Maybe these are X factors but they are X factors that are limited to the regular season. DJ and Walt will play nearly the entire game and every possession will be given 100% effort. Loses to Winthrop don't happen when played with a postseason mind set. Then why don't we play that way every game? It's impossible. It's too draining to go through a year like that and that is why we seem like a completely different bunch come March. This "X factor" talk is meaningless at this months end and finally we get to watch arguably the greatest bobcat ever perform at his highest capability and hopefully give us one last magic run as we say goodbye to DJ Cooper.
