Did I miss a discussion of Kadeem's minutes?  Can anyone fill me in on what's going on with him?  10 minutes at WMU, 0 vs NIU, 0 vs Toledo, 6 at Fiami, 0 at Kent?

I think he can at least be a piece of this team.  I know a lot of you expected him to be a piece of this team.  Did I miss something?  Is he injured?  Doghouse?  Can't he at least help on the boards?

First issue is a deep bench to get the time from. Second I think was short time to get enough actual game/team play experience and integrate into the system as he was not eligible until we were well into the season. I doubt he sees much time unless we get into serious foul trouble w/multiple Keely/Ivo/Smith - maybe even Johnson, or we get way up on some weaker opponents. No time for learning time in key and/or close games here on out.

Wow!  To think a month ago or so there was major discussion about Kadeem being the saviour of this team when the big guys were struggling!  This before he played a second of basketball for Ohio.

Yeah, people were jumping to conclusions that he would dominate the MAC just because he came from Missouri, but the truth is, he ended up in the MAC because he's a MAC-level player, and right now, he's a fairly inexperienced one at that. In time, I think he'll have a lot to offer, though. He just has to wait his turn.

Shows how fickle our fan base is, because this was the same time people were using the bus to run over Ivo.

Not just OUr fan base, but all fan bases.  It's the way sports fans are in general.

I was hoping Kadeem could be a guy that could give 10 high energy minutes of defense and rebounding...kind of like we got from Goard at times last season. I'd still like to see that happen - perhaps this week.  Sending a few big guys to bang on Zeke isn't a bad thing.

I thought he played great in the half prior to hurting his ankle.  I forget what game it was, but the big guys were in foul trouble and he stepped right in.

I was never a believer that Kadeem would be the savior for this team. First of all, when did we need a savior, besides the guys we already had?  As for him being here for another 2 years, that is what we should be excited about.  Keely is a monster right now.  If anything, I would like to see Jon Smith get more minutes, but Keely is too hot right now.  We are very fortunate to have a guy like Green if our "bigs" get into foul trouble.  At this point in the season, everybody should know their roles on this team.

It's hard to look beyond March, but next year should be very interesting with an arsenal of Smith, Green, Ndour, Campbell, and Mompremier.

I'd venture a guess that one of the freshmen end up red-shirting.  Not enough PT for both of them next year.

Was trying to "Money Ball" the rebound statistics to see how they equated to minutes played:

Kadeem has 11 rebounds in 56 minutes played = a rebound every  5.09 minutes played
Keely                79                      414                                                                   5.24
Ivo                    110                      561                                                                  5.10
J. Smith            79                       343                                                                  4.34
Ricardo             45                       256                                                                   5.69

John Smith wins, and by far has the most  rebounds on offense.  Obviously this is only one aspect of the game. Perhaps Ricardo's numbers are most impressive since he is often guarding on the perimeter, an therefore not in ideal position to rebound.

Ya.  I wouldn't mind if Smith and Ricardo took some minutes from Ivo.  Not a whole lot more though.  Love Slick Ric's intensity.

I think Green is still affected by his ankle injury. During warmups at Kent, he did not go above the rim once.

Maybe Ivo saw the bus - and it was named Kadeem....................

I do think the injury is nagging him as well.

DJ Cooper is not a MAC player. If he wasn't so skinny and short coming out of high school, he could have easily gone to Baylor. Then we forget that we have Bean Williz who was A STARTING POINT GUARD FOR TEXAS TECH. We have players on our team that aren't MAC players. Evidently MIzzou saw something in Green.

Obviously, there are players teams misevaluate. Cooper could have started for pretty much any team in the country. It's likely Missouri missed the other way slightly on Green. Had he stayed there, he could have contributed in some capacity, but he came to Ohio where he could have a bigger impact. Probably was the same case with Walt at Ohio State. I'm not saying these guys are incapable of playing in their previous leagues. It's more that they were recruited for different roles. Willis is a special case. His transfer obviously wasn't because of a lack of playing time or small role, but as bad as Texas Tech has been, it's more like a move up for him to be at Ohio.

Ultimately what I'm saying is that there's NOT that much difference between the Big 12 and the MAC. Some people seemed to think a guy who averaged 3 points and 3 rebounds in 11 games for Missouri was going to somehow dominat the MAC.

OK - I'll bite (as an early Kadeem "enthusiast"). Just who said he would "dominate" the MAC? I think we (the Kadeem "enthusiasts") were discussing how often we were getting Dominated in the paint and on the boards at the time...........

According to this article in the 2/18/13 Athens News

http://www.athensnews.com/ohio/article-39073-ohio-basketball-prospect-hopes-to-leave-injuries-behind-him.html

Kadeem injured his leg in the WMU game.  This was the first I'd heard of this and might help explain his lack of playing time,

He hurt it right near the end of the game if I recall correctly.   The article claims he has been fully healthy for a while so I doubt it explains his playing time.  I would love to see Green shine but from what I've seen he doesn't seem to be a better option than we have now.  If anything I'd rather see Jon Smith get more minutes.

Injury must be worse than we know, or he's in the dog house.  No other way to explain not getting into tonights blowout when JC cleared the benches.

he participated in warmups/alley oops, but didn't look 100% (missed dunks, vertical wasn't great) to me.
