I read here where people say how JC is not "motivating" his players. I agree that a pep talk or some inspirational speech may get people fired up before a game or at a half, but isn't it up to the players to perform? Nick is struggling and can't make a 3. Is that the coach's fault? If you're a player, you play. Walt is up and down. Do you really believe that is because the coach isn't pulling the right strings? He's a 5th year senior who has had success. You can't fault his effort. What should a coach be doing; yell at him, bench him, stroke him, ignore him? Give me a break. Players need to play, especially seniors. Is Reggie having a good year because the coach "motivates" him?

What you saw last night (and it was more obvious in person than on the tube) was a coach with a definite system in place (like Popavich of the Spurs has compared to some other NBA teams) vs. a coach who only seemed to have "drive and dish" as a strategy which is more effective in playground or community center ball.
And you saw the results.
