Hope you feel like tough guys. Hope you don't come back to the Convo, too.

One guy was right in front of me. About three or four people got in his face immediately, so I didn't have to say anything. Didn't look or act drunk. Part of me wanted JC to go Sam Wyche and grab the mic: "You don't go to Akron! You go to Ohio!"

The best part about this, if there was one, was that there was a Marketing promotion right after it happened throwing balls into the stands, giving these idiots more ammunition.

Just so you know... O Zoners and college kids in general that come to Ohio University from other cities are 99.9% more likely to cause trouble, pick fights, what have you than "just drunk townies".  I was born and raised in Athens and spent all of my college years there and cannot tell you how different the behavior is between students from out of town vs. local kids.

Not really trying to stir the pot here...just didn't like how you casually assumed it could have just been a "drunk townie" as if that's expected from the locals.

Regardless, whoever threw what on the court should never be aloud in the building again.

It was NOT from the O Zone. Granted, I classify the O Zone as just those lower bleacher seats and the other sections as general students, but the objects I saw being thrown were coming from the latter section (they were closer to press row than the court)

I could care less whether it were from the Ozone or general students, there is no freaking call for that.  Shame on everyone who did it.  Not only does it look bad, but I'm pretty sure there can be technicals assessed for it.  Not only do you make a fool of yourself, you hurt the team you claim to be cheering for.

I am upset that we have to wait for a regular season title.  I am upset that we lost at home.  I am upset that we had to see Akron beat us on OUR floor.  Having said all of that, if I posted my sentiments about the idiots throwing crap on the game floor, I would probably have my IP address banned immediately.

ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE

This was bad...especially that it happened at least 3 times. Cheer loudly, boo, tell Alex Abreu that he sucks....but please don't throw things on the court. That sounds like something Marshall would do...

The two times I saw the person doing it, I got in their face and threatened expulsion from the arena.  I knew I couldn't do that, but they didn't. I explained that this is not how we act, and that we're representing Ohio University.

You are exactly right. It isn't the actions of "drunk townies" most of the time. It is those from out of town that choose to come to OU.

This was an out of line, ignorant comment.

Bob Knight did something similar when an IU crowd started chanting "Bull Sh*t".

I agree.  There's no room for that at a game.  When Don Strock and VaTech came to town in the early '70s, the game got to be a blowout and some drunken moron threw a half-full liquor bottle into the end zone at the feet of a Tech player who scored a TD.  Not only was it classless and a waste of good liquor, somebody could've gotten hurt.

Reminds me of things I've seen in the past in Morgantown, WV.
