Just got this text from a friend?  Is that true and if so what does that do to pregame in Athens?  Any locals know the situation?

There is a boil order in effect until 10PM tonight. I'm not in Athens, so someone else will have to chime in about which businesses are going to be open today.

Last night Jackie O's posted this on Facebook:
Hello there Athenians! Despite today's water main issues,Jackie O's Pub & Brewery will be open tonight from 6pm - 2am. We will have a limited Kitchen menu (pizzas and appetizers) and a full bar!! Come'on in!

So I'm assuming they'll be open again today. Casa also posted yesterday that they will be reopening tonight at 6pm

Probably better just cancel the game tonight.  What if some of the bad water is still lingering and someone sips it from the drinking fountain?  Why take the chance?  Think of the children!

Why does it seem that something stupid like this has to happen in Athens so often when we have a big game?

Maybe they should hand out free water at the ticket window today.

Campus (Convo) not part of boil alert.  I was at the Convo last night for the AHS girls 45-44 victory over Jackson to win the District and all was good.  Of sourse you can also still shell out $3 for a bottle of Bobcat Water.  AHS boys play in Convo Thursday night, I don't think in all my Athens decades I've seen "my" teams play 3 straight nights in the Round House.  Awesome!  Go 'Cats, Go Bulldogs.

The university website says that The Ridges is the only part of campus not under the boil order.

My bad, Athena, you're right.  Good thing my youngest wanted that Bobcat Water last night!  Boy, Convo is going to make a killing on water bottles tonight with 10,000+ rocking the joint and no water fountains (boil alert is until 10pm).

Let's move the game to 10 p.m.

Want students?

Provide free shuttles to Court Street afterward.

Nothing like a good ol' "Wasted Wednesday" after a basketball game!

Appears this turned out to be a wasted post, so I called BW3 and they said they were open and operating normally.  Tried some others, but their answering machines said they don't open until 4pm.  So I gather Court Street is open and operating normally.

BTW, Courtside Pizza is the only consistent place I've found on Court Street for pregame gatherings.  I've tried BW3 and Broney's and Courtstreet is still our preferance.  Any others you all suggest that have plenty of room, some speed of service so you can be sure you can eat and make it to game and decent food?  Would love to change it up and 15 straight trips to even Courtside is tiring.  I see Jackie O's listed?  Is that a good alternative?

From my experience, If you're meeting up town with < 4 other people, Jackie O's is the way to go if you want some great food and, in my opinion, the best beer in Athens. The Pigskin is a close second with their absolutely fantastic burgers.  Anymore than that, Courtside is pretty much the only option if you want a larger gathering to be fed before a game.

Chicken George....The Grinders down on west union street, next to the old Little Ritz is a great place to get a good sub, or pizza, and they have beer now!  Nice pre-game crowds in there for food and drinks, plus, easy walk across the green to the Convo.  Old Little Ritz, now Cats Den is all Bobcat fans, pre and post game also.
