This is a post to all of our fans going to the Convo tomorrow.

I know there is a lot of bad blood between Ohio and Akron.  And why shouldn't there be?  Our fans are very proud of our respective programs and think that we have an equal shot at getting the MAC crown and have a good tourney run.  I can't stand Akron myself.

However, let's keep it simple.  Jeer their team, boo them, give them hell.  Don't call them names, throw stuff at them, spit on them, or try to provoke confrontation.  Going to games and having fan banter should be fun, not personal.

I know that 99 percent of you don't need to be told this, but there's always somebody.  And please, if you see somebody doing it, get them to stop.  This should be a fun night for everyone involved (until the final results )

I'll add that the only trouble I encountered while wearing green at the JAR this year (aside from the horrible venue itself) was the final result. Let's return the favor in Athens.

I will second that. I have been on the road for 4 years and endured and seen many of those jackasses. From the beer swilling and alcohol emboldened students at Bradley to the idiots from Buffalo that make Marshall fans look cultured. It takes just a couple of idiots from the host school to cast a pall on the rest of the fanbase. I took the time to walk down and speak to one of our fans who was becoming somewhat abusive to one of the visiting player's (admittedly deserving loudmouth ) mom. Not because I knew her from AAU but because I did not want her to remember and run her mouth about her experience at OHIO> I would hope we would all step up similarly if we observe one of ours who is behaving badly.

THanks for posting. It is essential that we understand OHIO is the class of the MAC and Akron......is not.

I enjoyed being on the O Zone side of that relationship, but I can't imagine how much fun it would have been in Section 1 at that point.
