Apparently, they're having problems with the closest conference foe being a 1700+ mile roundtrip.  Most of the problems are on the b-ball side, since they have to play at each conference team.  Seems to be both money and logistics.

They are also not going to like finishing in the lower half of the Big 12 in football and basketball every year.
