The last five years I've been blessed with a friend who had the Gold package with solid seats for MAC Tourney. I've been informed he did not renew. I've researched the tickets from the Q and also from OU itself. What would you guys suggest? OU has cheaper tickets but the guy said there's no guarantee on getting lower seating. I'd like not to be in the upper bowl but rather down low in an OU section. Any advice is welcomed as we near the tournament.

Anybody know if there is the Ohio Lottery ticket promotion this year?

I've been told by a native Clevelander that it's back again this year.

I read that a lottery ticket gets you a BOGO this year, not a straight up free ticket. It is for all rounds though, not just the finals.

Not sure how they assign seating in the Ohio section, but it wouldn't guarantee lower bowl. In 2010, I got student tix through OU and was lower, but there were plenty in the sections above the lower-level suites as well. Assuming they assign based on Bobcat Club points or similar.

In 2011, since OU wasn't playing, we did the lottery promo for the championship game, and those seats were lower-level but behind the hoop. We wandered past a couple ushers and into the above-the-suites seats around half court and weren't bothered.

Does anyone know if the Lottery BOGO offer is good for any seats or are there special sections reserved for BOGO?

For the BOGO Ohio Lottery promotion, does it sell out or something you need to buy early in advance?

I would imagine the only potential game all tournament long that would stand a chance of having any remote sort of availability issue on the BOGO is an Akron/Ohio final.

Friday night Kent/Akron semi might draw, too, and that'd be on the same session as our semi.

All I know is I got my tickets in the same seats as the last seven years and am excited.  Hotel room reserved and plans made for during daytime.  I will be down in section 101 row 1.

I've bought tickets at the door the last two years for the MAC finals using the lottery ticket promo with no problems.

On Friday, Ohio will have fewer lower bowl seats due to MAC having to accommodate fans of four teams.  So unless you are high priority, I'd expect your Friday ticket on Club Level.  However, OU will play the late game, so you should be able to move down to lower level as the fans of the teams that played the early game head out to celebrate or mourn their team's outcome.

For Saturday, you should have better chance of lower level seating buying through Ohio(if Ohio wins), as more lower level seats should be allocated to surviving teams.

If you are going to be disappointed by Club Level seats or possible corner seats, then you should probably buy seats now through "Q"....but If you want to save a little $ and not risk being stuck with Saturday tickets if Ohio loses in semi's and likely be able to improve seat location on Friday when early game fans leave, then buy from Ohio.
