Well, we sure HOPE it's his last game at the Convo. Home game in the NIT would be a little awkward in that regard after we send him (and Walt, Reggie and Ivo) off this Saturday.

pm me with you bids for my two BobcatBlack seats, right in the first row on the floor for this game.  Half the proceeds to BobcatClub and half to School of Accounting.  Must have bids in by 6pm on March 6.  Thanks, Monroe

I'm all for honoring Coop's milestone. But remember, there are also 4 other men who have helped set numerous program records.  This day is about ALL of them:  Coop, Reg, Ivo, Walt, and McKinley.  I expect the red carpet to be rolled out for the all-time winningest class in Bobcat history.  I think it'd be very cool and classy if they could get Groce to record some praise for the class as well to be played on the video boards.  I believe it was his first recruiting class, and what they accomplished has put our program where it is today.  I circled this one on the calendar 4 months ago.  Anybody who can get there to show your support for these men should make the trip.  They deserve it.  I'm coming down +11.  A few alums coming in from Louisville and Dallas to send our boys out right.

Coop will get his own day in the not so distant future methinks.  I wouldn't miss that one for the world either. Go Cats.

I believe you're right, Ozcat, this was John Groce's first recruiting class. I know it's not going to happen, but wouldn't it be something if Horne and Kinney showed up, just for the heck of it?

Also agree with your thoughts that Saturday is about all 5 of the guys, not just D.J. His special day will come.

I agree about not forgetting the other four.

I circled this one as well. I told my wife I'd have to bed ridden sick, or in the hospital to miss this one.  Incidentally, I love the 4pm tip. Allows a noon time arrival in Athens for lunch and some pregame fun.  I wish all Saturday home games were at 4pm unless altered by TV.  I'm looking forward to it, but I'm honestly going to really miss watching these five guys.  They've been a special group the last two years. Even Ivo, despite my frustrations at times, has provided us with a number of exciting and special moments.  It's been so much fun to watch Reggie mature from raw big guy into a low post monster.  And while I've always said DJ is worth the cost of a ticket, my favorite guy of this group because of his intensity and demeanor is Walt.  Walt and DJ have been program culture changing guys. I hope it carries into future generations of Bobcat hoopers.  More than anything, what I like best about this group is that they've won a bunch of games over the last two seasons and you've rarely hear about off-court problems or issues in the class room.  They're just an impressive group of young men.

Cheers to Saturday!  (without forgetting about Wed @ UB of course)

I am really looking forward to this game. I just bought a ticket and I am bringing a college friend down whom I have not seen in a while. Already planning on grabbing lunch, going around campus, getting a brew or two and then going to the game. Weather looks pretty good right now too. Can't wait!

Not sure if I will be crying Saturday or the first game at the Convo next season without these Seniors.  DJ Cooper will easily go down as my favorite collegiate basketball player of all-time.  So fun watching him work his magic.  Going to also miss the toughness and leadership of Walt Offutt,  the monster slams from Reggie Keely, the smooth jump-shot and alley-oop dunks from Ivo Baltic, and the automatic kiss of death 3-pointers from David Mckinley.

Thank you seniors!
