I am definitely in favor of starting Wilkins over Kellogg @ BG.
Anyone else want to second the motion?

No.

If I am JC, I get Kellogg and Baltic as many shots as possible for the next three games.  I tell Nick that if he doesn't get at least 10 shots each game, I am pulling his scholorship.

I do whatever it takes to get these two back in the offensive groove, because we are much, much, much better when they are playing well.

I'm in agreement with you, but I'm not as extreme.  I'd make the effort to get both of them starts and minutes in the next three.  Tell 'em to be aggressive as hell and that you don't care about shots falling, or fouls.  You care only about effort on defense, rebounding, and taking the ball at the rim.  Shots eventually go in when it's just part of the game and not the only thing.

I keep Kellogg in the starting line-up.

I actually think Nick has kind of played well, except for the shooting part. Which I know sounds kind of ridicuolus, because that is his main benefit to the offense.

But I think he has improved on driving to the basket (had a nice drive and score in first half against Akron), handles the ball well - better than Travis, and plays better defense than Travis.

He's just not making shots. I think he still starts.

But, I am fine with continuing to increase Travis's minutes if Nick continues his slump. I think he played more in Akron than Nick did.

I agree...Wilkens has looked a little lost on the defense side.

Haha, handles the ball well while dribbling it off his knee.  And defensively is one of the perimeter guys that doesnt guard the three.

Do agree, he needs to get his head screwed on right and play to his potential.

I absolutely would continue letting Nick work through this struggles as he's a difference maker.  We're a different team when Nick is hot.  Wilkens should remain his replacement as I don't believe Travis is a satisfactory replacement.

As frustrated as everyone is with Ivo, I absolutely would give him a few more cracks at seeing if he can regain the magic here in the 12th hour of his Senior Year.  Run a few set plays for him where he can get edge off a screen and drive; and a few plays where he gets the ball down on the post.  Show him a video of himself playing his Sophomore year one more time and ask him for what has to be the 1,000th time to just bring this Ivo back.

I believe TJ has been a suitable replacement, but we're simply better if Ivo would be Ivo.  He brings attributes to the table that would make us much better than what we are without him.  The data would support that Ivo, the coaching staff and the fans may have deemed him "finished," but I still give it one more crack before we can't experiment anymore in a few weeks.

Bottom line, it appears Akron is playing at full strength with all engines running at near capacity.  Our team needs to get back to that point ASAP.  For much of this season we've been operating 2.5 out of 5 in regards to capacity.  I count DJ and Reggie as giving us what we expected, or more.  Walt as giving us about .5 of what we expected and recently Nick and ivo giving us at time, close to zero.  We've got to get all 5 of these guys going at the same time NOW.  Then you rotate TJ, Jon, Travis and Stevie in and we're back to where we were ending last year.

Agree with all here - except I would give Walt a bit of a bump, maybe .75.

Wilkins can't guard a wet sock on defense

On offense I actually saw him forced to call a time out when faced with single team ( not double team) pressure....and he's a guard.

Sounds like a perfect plan

I see your Caris Levert and raise you a Travis Wilkins.....brilliant.

You guys miss Wilkins value on offense.  Save for rushing some shots up, he moves the ball and works at setting picks.  I saw a moment where his individual D was bad but I like his effort.  You're going to see him play more and more (next year, too) and like that.

And, I'm going to take a sure to be unpopular position.  Kellogg should not start.  It's been too long that his shot hasn't been there.  Time to try something else.

i have been unhappy with Ivo's game pretty much all year. but i think the problem is between his ears. he still hustles and plays hard, but he has zero confidence right now.

i think he needs on the floor a lot in the next three games to see if he can shake his funk.

i thought Wilkins played too many minutes against Kron and Ivo  didn't play enough. Ivo would have still rebounded hard.

Ivo played maybe two minutes in the second half??? seemed like he was not on the floor at all. i liked him coming off the bench this year better than starting.

don't know if he is in JC's doghouse but i'd like to see more minutes from him.

I agree with those who say Kellogg has actually been playing well.  His ability to drive the hoop is completely developed, and I think he is a pretty  perimeter defender against slashers.

His 3-point woes are incredibly frustrating, because he used to be automatic.  Beyond him being a good all-around players, I think we need to stick with him because we need him to heat up from 3 if we are going to make a run.  Give him as many shots as you can these last couple games.

Monroe, I am with you on your thoughts about Wilkens.  He is going to get more minutes because Nick is struggling with his 3 ball.  Travis continues to shoot it well in practice and is looking more comfortable as his minutes increase.  I don't care if it is Nick or Travis....we just have to find a hot hand and make sure that guy is getting the minutes and the shots !
i don't know what to tell you about Ivo.  I am hoping that he will somehow pull himself up, and get after it, but I am afraid that he may not be quite mentally tough enough or strong enough to make that happen.  I hope that I am reading that wrong, and he will take advantage of his minutes today to show that he deserves to be back in the fray !  His Dad is in town for the game, and maybe that will help him get back after it!  I am pulling hard for him because he is a good kid, and when playing his best, he can help us win !  Watch it closely, and see what we see.  Go Bobcats!

JC listening to some of our thoughts with Ivo starting and more aggressive early on.  Then again, is TJ hurt as  I don't think he's entered the game yet?

Glad to see Nick have a big day today.  Good mix of 3s and 2s; nice to see he's not forcing the 3 when it's not there.

Christian said T.J. Hall had a lot of swelling after Wednesday's game. He warmed up with the team, but Christian decided to hold him back.

All of us want to see Nick do well.  Preference expressed here for Wilkins is merely to help the team.  It's geat if both of them are playing well.  That could really help us post-season.

I missed the game (who knew it was an early starter!).  Did BG offer much resistance for much of the game.  As ususal, I'm most interested in how we do against stiff competition; rollovers don't tell me much.

I thought Kellogg's stroke looked good today. Better than it has any time the last month or so. Every one of his shots save for one came within the flow of the offense. Nothing forced.

I think Jim Christian might read this board. Strictly for comedic reasons, though. We're the peanut gallery. There's some humor to be found in our ignorance and inanity.

Well, then how are we ever going to rebound? I'm assuming this team won't rebound until Jim Christian has read the thread telling him Ohio needs to rebound better.
