Hadaway getting more minutes I'm all for. If he can just control himself a tad more and show touch around the rim his game goes to another level.
Control himself like not talking smack with the Belmont crowd after hitting his first 3 attempt as a college frosh in the season opener last year? Or control himself like not putting his hand down around his knees after scoring inside Saturday against Delaware, indicating his defender is too short to defend him?

Asking for a friend.
Hads is starting to turn into one of my favorite players - dude hustles and gives his all out on the court. I don't mind the trash talking as long as he can back it up and doesn't negate a tech. I feel that he sometimes lets his emotions get the best of him though at times. Seems very self critical of himself when he makes a mistake.

If AJ Brown is hurt, rest him. Have Hadaway and Cornish absorb the minutes in the short term and roll with it the best you can. I'd rather have serviceable healthy players playing games than unhealthy and ineffective expected star players.

Caught some of the post game on the radio on the way home and AJ Brown’s lack of playing time, particularly in the second half, came up. Not sure which assistant coach was handling that duty. Didn’t catch who it was. The response however did not focus on an injury as much as they were going with what was working. They complimented AJ on how good he is and said he’d have his day in so many words. He said Elmore was playing well (which I assume meant giving him even more minutes) as was Hadaway I believe it was. I have to admit I wonder if Boals was still pulling the strings on that tactic even though he wasn’t there. It seemed others didn’t play as much late in the too.

+1

Also control himself like not yelling an expletive at himself after missing a lay-up and having the ref think he was yelling at him and get a "T" for it. That happened in the Middle Tennessee State Bahamas game.

I love his hustle and energy...but the "too short" antics and other stuff is too much and cringe worthy. He's not good enough to be acting that way on the court. But I'm just glad to see significant progress out of him from year one to year two. #CaptainChaos

Yep...he needs to stop showing how mad he gets at himself when something doesn't go his way. But again...the hustle is there and noticed. #CaptainChaos

I'm curious if Miles were playing if it wouldn't be easier for AJ to sit for a few games and try to heal up. Will add that thank god this is the one position where we aren't in panic mode if one of the wings goes down for a little bit with the depth we have. Lose Clayton and that's a whole different story.

We're not getting an at-large bid and conference play isn't for another month. We have only four games over the span of a month that count towards anything, and that anything is the matchup for the second leg of the Sun Belt deal and tournament seeding if we win the conference championship.

We can roll with eight guys with each position group somewhat covered if it would help any nagging injuries. I don't think we're at a point where we need people to play through pain.

Agree...if AJB is hurting...no sense in throwing him out there in December games.

I agree with resting AJB. Need him 100% for Cleveland. He may not agree with it though. Gots ta keep the free agents happy ya know?

Delaware 87
Xavier 80

I think Delaware will be sneaky dangerous in the Coastal Conference this year.

Obviously, our win over them now ends up, looking pretty good.

Even more so because we didn't shoot the ball particularly well from the foul line or 3-pt line and got virtually nothing from the Browns (Miles and AJ), two of OUr regular starters.

Miles and AJ being healthy might dramatically help out our shooting. When you play small, and we don't have much choice there, you usually have to shoot from the outside to be good and we all know we mostly haven't.
