Bobcat basketball alumni dad Tom Freeman is receiving a Volunteer of the Year Award at Drum Corps International finals event this weekend in Indianapolis. Many know Tom from Bobcats sporting events and his visits here. But, he's been involved with the Cavaliers for decades. One of my friends and former colleagues is a board member, volunteer and alumni of the Canton Bluecoats who participate in DCI. He says this is a hard award to earn. Congrats, Tom!

Administrators -- I put this on the basketball page because I thought most folks here would make that connection. If you need to move it, that's fine.

As some people here may recall, my wife and I follow Drum Corps.

Cavies are well known for the quality of their medical staff.

Some corps actually send their Marching Members over there to get checked
out.

Having a group of over 165 men (Cavies are the only remaining all male corps) living and traveling in close quarters creates a number of challenges, including any "bug" running rampant through the corps.

As recently as this year, the Cavies medical staff finds a way to
deal with it.
