My only major criticism of JC tonight is that he didn't bring Stevie into the game earlier in the 2nd half.  I thought he should've come in when WMU brought the lead under 10.  Stevie with DJ on the floor really ramps up the defensive intensity and creates turnovers that lead to points.  It's a nice combo that gets the team's emotional level up there.

It really does. I think he's just hesitant to play them too long together because they are our ONLY point guards. You have to have one of the two on the floor at all times, so JC has to pick his spots to run that lineup. Not to mention Stevie's aggressiveness on D leads to fouls. JC put in that lineup tonight to stop WMU's run in the 2nd and it worked to perfection.

You're absolutely right though, Stevie really ratchets up our D and then it also frees up DJ to run off some screens and get the ball more on the wing or baseline to give the other team a different look.

The other guy I really wish got more minutes is Jon Smith. The kid really rebounds well. He gets a ton of put backs and just attacks the rim with authority. Plus he gives us a shot blocking presence and more energy on the defensive side of the ball. He's not as "talented" as Ivo or Big Reg but when we need energy/intensity or a big rebound or stop on defense I want Jon on the floor. You can just feel the teams energy level rise when Jon and Stevie enter the game.

I said it after the Miami game that the lineup with Jon+Stevie made the difference in the game and they both played a big part for us tonight in the 2nd half again.

Also....how tough could we be if both TJ and Nick ever both get on track in the same game?
